it is possible to fix this, you have to remove the gauge cluster. when you get it out you will see little black turn sockets that have no wires on them, those are your lights, twist them counter clockwise and pull them out, if they do not look burnt out then you may have a power/ground issue. removing the cluster can be time consuming, and tricky depending on your model, lots of screws and on some vehicles you have to remember which screw went in which hole, as some screws are longer than others. but someone with any kind of mechanical knowledge should be able to do this.

Where can I buy the small halo bulb replacements for this car? Either 6 watt or 10 watt replacements.
Chassis E65.....and bulbs are small bayonet type. Originals are Philips 12082 10 watt halogen bulbs. A suitable replacement of 6 watts or 10 watts is acceptable.

Did you already check for battery voltage and ground at your headlight socket? If battery voltage is present check for proper ground (it is possible that the wire for your ground is disconnected).

    Power windows don't work
I have checked the switch with one out of another mountaineer but thats not it. I was looking for the right fuse to check but none of them are marked and the fuse box says to check the owners manual for fuse ID, I don't have the owners manual but went to the mercury ...

You likely have a broken ground wire inside the rubber boot where the window wiring goes out from the door by the door hinges.

      1. At the master window switch 8 terminal connector (C504a) check for a good ground on pin 2 Black (BK) wire. If the wire is not a good ground, repair as needed and recheck operation.

      2. If the ground is OK, verify the LB/BK wire maintains battery voltage when trying to operate the power windows.

      3. If there is battery voltage on the LB/BK wire when loading the circuit, check for battery voltage and ground between pin 7 Tan/Light Blue (TN/LB) and pin 8 White/Black (WH/BK) wire of C504a when commanding the driver's window down or up. If power and ground are not present between the wires but the power and ground to the switch are OK, suspect a faulty master window switch.

You can buy new ones but the replacement parts need to be ordered from an authorized Ford / Lincoln Mercury dealer as these parts are not available aftermarket.

Where is fuse box located, drivers power seat doesn't work, passenger does

If the passenger side seat works then the fuse is good. The same fuse serves both seats. You may have a bad switch, a broken black ground wire off the switch. I do not think bad motors because the seat has 3 separate motors and they cannot all fail at once. verify that the BLACK / WHITE wire coming into the switch has 12 volts at all times or with the key on. verify that the BLACK wire coming off the switch is a good ground.

Ahhh, Blend door problem, its stuck. Usually this can be accessed through the GLove box or center console. The blend door is the size of a small notebook (black) that swivels left and right letting cold and hot air through. Or it can be the actuator is busted.

Check your coolant level, if it is low top it off and bleed your cooling system if necessary (if possible check for leak in your cooling system if your engine coolant is low). Observe or check your coolant operating temperature, if it is below specification you should check your thermostat it may be stuck or damaged. Lastly check the condition of your heater control valve operation, heater control valve is used to control the flow of your coolant flow through the heater core. It is controlled by a cable or vacuum.

you will need a trim panel removal tool. it has a screw driver handle but a flat end to help prty the clips that hold the door panel in place. I'm not sure if the window is held on with rivets some are so you may need a drill to remove the old rivets, and a riveting gun to install the new window.

Have 2 doors that won't open
One door will open only if you click over and over inside, then let the window and use outside latch to open. The other will not open inside at all and it's hard to open on the outside. What could be the problem with these doors?

Once you open you interior door panel, you will be able to find out what the problems is. What happened to me with my car is when i try to open the passenger side door from the outside, there is no resistance so its obvious what the problem was.

Now there are 2 screws on the interior door handle, remove them. Then remove the inside door handle cup. On low series front door trim panel, remove the screw and the window regulator handle. Start in a lower corner and work around the panel and separate the front door trim panel from the front door to disengage the pin-type retainers.

Lift the front door trim panel to disengage the top lip from the weatherstrip.

Position the front door trim panel aside.

Separate the power window switch finish panel from the door trim panel.
      Then release the locking tabs.

If equipped, remove the courtesy lamp bulb from the lens and remove the front door trim panel.

The wiper arm has a nut that can be removed (maybe, 17mm socket) to release the arm, and then you can adjust the wiper arm reach.

I am tring to locate the GEM were it is on a 1999 ford sable

    • AC130 Spectre
      10/14/2010 AC130 Spectre
The GEM module on your model is attached to the fuse box under the dash on the drivers side. You will have to remove the fuse box then take the screws loose and the module will come off. The fuse box is very easy to remove on these cars, just a few nuts holding it on and a few wiring harnesses to take loose.

Need guide to replace and install side mirrow

    • darkmind

You can pry at the top end of the side mirror cover, and then removed it in an upward direction after you unsnapped the clips. If there is a sponge present remove it to expose the mirror area. There are 3 nuts holding the side view mirror to the door before you remove it disconnect the wiring harness/ connector (just pull the tab outward and pull apart).
