How do you change a driver side turn signal light

There should be 2 nuts inside the fender area similar to the Crown Vic. If you take them out, you should be able to get the rear of the light removed.

Inspect the headlight switch for any signs of defects or loose of wiring harness, replace it as needed.

Headlight switch directs current to the headlights and running lights to turn them on or off
When not replaced, headlights will run continually or not function, potentially causing premature headlight failure and/or safety issues.

How to replace bulb on third brake light

You get at it from the trunk. There is probably an insulator that you have to remove. When you get at the bulb connector, turn it ccw, to remove. This info should be in your owners manual. The info I looked at was for sedan.

Check the engine coolant level. Low in coolant could contributed to the gauge is at HOT and it was unable to fill the heater core and the heater is blowing cold air.

I think this is the problem. I was an hour from home and needed to drive the car. I popped the hood, and I think you are right. The coolant level was way down. I added a whole container of water and almost 2/3 container of anti-freeze. As soon as I drove four about 10 minutes...I tried the heat, and it worked! I took the car to Jiffy Lube one month ago. I would have assumed that htey topped the fluids off. Either they forgot, or I have a slow leak. Would you agree with that? Thanks!

car also may have a head gasket problem if it is full of coolant and still blows no heat

great suggestion! I'm learning a lot about what could go wrong for next time! Now that we know what the problem is, is there anything you recommend I do to make sure it doesn't have another problem?

Remove a heater hose anywhere and confirm that you have strong flow from the hose and if the there is no flow replace the water pump. Broken impeller.

I didn't do this...but I am keeping these notes for next time. Anything additonal you think I should do before I trust that there is no other underlying problem?

Obtain a free loan radiator pressure tester from the local auto parts stores such as Autozone, O'Reilly or PepBoys. Follow their instructions and pump it an adequate air pressure in lbs " ALLOWANCES" on the radiator cap. Observe the leaks and perform the repair.

      Note: hope Jiffy Lube forgot.

Front windshield washer does not work. Pump does not run.
Pulled off wire plug at pump and no 12v there. Is there a relay involved? If not, must be wire or steering column switch. Is this multi-switch difficult to replace?

    • Spoon Sports
      11/15/2011 Spoon Sports
If you are absolutely sure there isn't 12v at the pump, then you need what's called a front wiper/washer amplifier assembly. Before you change that, you will need to check that your wiring is good from the amplifier to the pump. You will need an ohm meter. It will tell you if you have a perfect connection, or no connection, or a connection with resistance. The pump wires are the same colors coming out of the amplifier and the pump, and the amp is at the left front strut tower.

    HORNS STOPPED WORKING?
Ran wires directly to my battery & the horns work great. How can I find the source, in the wires, (may be a relay, fusible link, etc.) causing the problem. Where & how do I troubleshoot this? I have a Chilton's Manual, but it doesn't have a section on HORNS or ...

Click on the link, check the fuse, check for voltage at the fuse, use voltage tester. Next, I have to check voltage and ground at the horn relay. The problem is usually the wiring in the steering column, but, start with the basics.

Thanks JDL Where did you get the diagram? Are there more on this? I also had someone push the horn, while I was under the hood. A sort of clicking sound came from (seem to me) above the heater core, BUT INTERNAL. Meaning INSIDE the car. That's why I asked about RELAYS, ETC. or ANY OTHER "in betweens". I believe that could be where the problem lies. Any other diagrams or schematics on the horn system, as (Some Models) have 1 horn on each fender side. THIS, seems to be throwing me off!!!

Sorry, but, I can't seem to find ANY fuses marked at the fuse bax, for HORN. LOL. So, if you can, please check out my last post/reply. I would like to have or get more diagrams to track the wiring in this nightmare car, that a kid DRASTICALLY ALTERED! Anyhow, thanks again for your help & any dditional schematics or diagrams on this 1990 Horn. Just cannot go with the "HORN BUTTONS"!!! LOL.

As far as the steering column, make sure the air-bag is disabled, first.

That diagram came from a library automotive database. A lot of libraries carry automotive databases. If you live in an area they serve, I believe the info is free. At least one of their databases, you should be able to access on your home computer. Not the best automotive database, but, better than nothing. I don't have a large library near me, I buy access for 40 dollars a year.

Autozone.com has free wiring diagrams. You have to register your vehicle, but, it's all free. I'm not sure I can find a fuse box for your model year, I'll try?

With horn button activated, did you check for voltage at the horn connector, use voltage tester. If you hear clicking, the fuse should be ok. The clicking may come from the horn relay, don't have location, at the moment. If you pull the relay and use jumper wire between terminals, switch side of relay, line with arrowhead is switch side, the horn should honk. There is usually a diagram on the relay.

    Window stopped going up mid-way
I have power windows and as I was winding up the window, it stopped mid-way and won't go up any further. What's wrong?

Will it go down? Is it the driver door window? I haven't looked at your wiring, but, where applicable, does the power window circuit breaker get warm to the touch? Might be something wrong with window motor?

Plugs in and looks like a small square box or round located under dash left side in most cases, If you have a owners manual it will show you where it is most likely.

Why does my speedometer work intermittently?
135K, I haven't tried fixing the problem yet. No warning lights are on. Problem happens while I'm driving the car. The speedometer may stay on zero then start going up then going back down again.
