Why does trans stop pulling after initial engagementAJ'S Auto Repair - 2000 Mercedes Benz E320 - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 7/29/2012vehicle has 186,000 miles. when the vehicle is warm trans will not engage. After the vehicle is allowed to sit for awhile it will move for a few feet and then stop again. Service engine light is on but am unable to scan for a code. -

My transmission fails to shift out of second gear intermittently every other day. 7/11/2012 HouseCallAutoSee if the brake lights are working. If they are not working, your cause could be a faulty brake light switch. The brake light circuit is what activates the shifter interlock.
