4 bolts fell out of what seems to be the gear box in rear, in front of gas tank. It goes into reverse, but no forward.
3 bolts are missing and the 4th is broken. I just got this car a few weeks ago, but it has been well maintained. The manual in the car does not show nor discuss: gear box; differential; transmission or any reference to steering.

If you are talking about the shift shaft seal, you would first have to remove the transmission pan.
Then, remove the linkage inside the trans. then remove cable and lever. You should be able to
remove the old seal with a seal puller tool.

Your vehicle has a shift interlock. It prevents the shifter from leaving park unless the brake pedal is pressed. A faulty shift interlock solenoid or brake pedal switch is likely the cause. If your brake lights are still working then you should test the shift interlock.

On vehicles with all wheel drive the tires should have the same tread depth. If the difference is too much it will cause extra stress on your differentials or transfer case and can cause damage. This is why tire shops wont install 1 tire only. If your vehicle gets damaged they will have to pay for it. If your other tires are within 3/32 of new depth it should be fine. If you really want just one tire take the wheel off yourself and take it in loose. Then have it replaced and put it on yourself. Dont tell them what it is going on.

There is no way to determine which parts need to be replaced with the information provided. Can you e more specific with the details; what is wrong / what is the issue, and which parts are being recommended for replacement?

Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.partsgeek.com, www.carpartswarehouse.com, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the distributor rotor from around $30.00 for your vehicle.

If it happened that fast, like cause and effect, then yes there is likely a solenoid that allows the shifter to release located below where the water went and the water did something (the usual cause is soda or coffee) to cause the solenoid to stick. First check and see if your brake lights are working and if they are not, check the brake light fuse because the b rake light circuit is the circuit that also activates the shift release in all cars I know of and if the brake lights still work then replace the sticking solenoid or at least take a look at it.
