I also have been working on cars for about 40 years, but I do not have any personal experience with ever having to remove a front drive axle from an S550 or any other MB that I cn remember. Now, that being said I imagine I'd end up in the same exact predicament that you have right now. I can tell you for sure that removing this axle is no different than any other as it has to be "popped" to overcome the collapse of the retainer clip. A quick check on all data shows a two piece tool which you can google to get sticker shock. Tool # 221589043300 and tool # 602589003300 which is an impact puller with a slidehammer that is shaped specifically for the axle shaft inner housing I presume. I assume that you have tried all the usual methods that we both would do. Just want to say be careful of using a fulcrum and lever type removal method because the aluminum transmission housing could fracture with too much pressure applied in any one spot.

Where the soda was spilled into is the transmission range sensor anytime a repair is given a repair estimate is always given, You should have the vehicle check from your mechanic

you have to go to a trusted benz mechanic and hook your car to a diagnostic computer...you would be able to see if there are any other problems with your transmission or if there is no problem, the mechanic will be able to reset your car's computer. hopefully this would erase any problems.

You'd better use a professional person Benz diagnostic tool, so relatively safe, of course, if you believe that you can solve the problem yourself, or consult a professional mechanic.MB SD Connect Compact 4 support reading out & erasing trouble code, reading the real-time data of sensor and actuator, coding and programming. Also support wireless diagnose, support K line,CAN BUS and UDS protocol, with multi-language.hope it is helpful to you. http://www.uobd2.net/.../...3-03-version.html

Why does my car hesitate or stall when I first step on the gas after backing out of my driveway?
It almost jerks when I press the gas unless I do it very slowly and carefully. What's wrong?

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires
