The sunroof won't retract, is there a special sequence to getting this to work (no manual was provided w/the car)
Don't kow if the roll-bar should be in the up or parked position to start the sunroof. Also, heard there was a "roof lift" mechanism in the trunk, when roof is parked to allow easier access to cargo space--could this be a factor?

How do i remove the (power) rear seat to change the rear shocks?
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
Hi Greg, how about look for connectors and detached it from power seat motor, then find the bolts or nuts to loose for you to remove the seat assembly. Best doing this the engine off and key not inserted it could produce fault reading when you remove connectors.

It appears the bumper is connected in one piece to the rear quarter panels. Do I need the whole component to repair the broken part of the bumper (just above the hitch)?

You will need to remove the molding around the input slot of the belt on the B-Pillar using a flathead screwdriver and view the actual receiver and see if there is a lock that is preventing it from retracting.

I also read somewhere (i cant confirm if its really true though) that there is a Federal law that seatbelts should be replaced free of charge in the dealership. It's not common knowledge for obvious reasons.

Thank you so much, if the repair required replacement, I'll inform a MB Dealership and communicate their living up to the Federal law requirement

Hi Carlos, i think the switch is defective, or a small particle was inside it that becomes the conductor that whenever the car/door shakes it attach to earth connection and trigger the motor to react. Best thing to do is consult a car electrician. You can use the "Find a Shop" feature of AutoMD for shops nearest you.

How to install front license plate on 2001 mercedes benz CL55AMG
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
Hi fireh2o44, a universal license plate holder is a big help. It can hold any size of license plate and it includes installation instruction. But if you want without it, you will be needing a pencil, a screwdriver, 2 screw bolts, a measuring tool and a drill. Just measure the distance of the 2 holes in the in-front of the bumper, which are reserved for license plate, make some measuring on your plate for the drilling point. Recheck and make a hole, then attach it, and your done. Fixing that will take you 5-10 minutes only.

Like to know how to remove passenger side right front inside door panel to replace window motor

I can’t find a how to guide for your vehicle, you can post a thread or find an article about your query on the Mercedes Benz forum. Be careful when you remove your door panel because there are side air bags in this model.

Why won't my window go up?
I pulled the window motor out and the motor will turn to put the window down, but it will not go up. I got another motor and it does the same thing. Is it a switch problem or a wiring problem?

If it worked to go down but wont come back up, before assuming it is a (expensive) window motor, try checking the switch/es.

Think about it, if it worked going down but not back up, the motor was working when current was going in one direction, it should work if you reverse the current.

In some cases a swift hit to the door will free a stuck or dragging motor. But before assuming it is a motor, check the switch.

Why do i get a high pitched noise from my car while it is running?
    • DrkShdw983
      9/15/2010 DrkShdw983
Have you had your belts checked/replaced recently? They could be worn, too loose, or too tight. Any of those conditions would cause a high pitched noise while the engine is running. If you're at or over 80,000 miles (and have never done so) than you need to replace your timing belt, serpentine belt, and water pump very soon regardless of whether or not it solves the problem. The only other thing that comes to mind is a hung up caliper which would only squeal while the car is moving.

There are 6 screws to loosen on your glove box, but if you just find 4 and the 2 screw around the latch is missing its ok it is usually like that, yank out firmly and remove your glove box light wire from the light.
