      Most ESC (electronic stability control) systems have a warning light that flashes when the system is active; some, including most Toyota and Lexus cars, have a beeper that sounds. ESC is most likely to activate on slippery (wet, snowy or icy) roads, though driving quickly on curvy, hilly roads or hitting a bump while cornering may also trip the ESC system.

      This explanation is copied from the Mercedes owners manual;
      The ESC, the ETS, or the ABS has come into operation because of detected traction loss for at least one wheel.
      Risk of accident!
      The cruise control or the DISTRONIC PLUS is deactivated.
      X When driving off, apply as little throttle as possible.
      X While driving, ease up on the accelerator pedal.
      X Adapt your speed and driving to the prevailing road and weather
      conditions.
      X Do not switch off the ESC.
      Exceptions, see Operator’s Manual.

    Central locking system, trunk release, and top mechanism all quit at the same time. No warning lights or messages.

      The only way to diagnose this is by removing the cluster to gain access to the powers and grounds at the connector and if there is battery voltage and ground where it is supposed to be then the cluster is junk. These old MB clusters were common to go out back in the day. If you are interested in finding out detail about how to do this yourself just say so and I will look up and identify wire colors etc that you have to check. Might find procedure on how to remove the cluster.

    I have a 2009 E350 and I'm having issues with the driver's exterior door handle.
    I have a 2009 E350 and I'm having issues with the driver's exterior door handle. There is a small sensor on the handle that locks the door. This sensor doesn't work sometimes. Is there a simple fix or does the handle need replacing? Does anyone know how much this ...

      If this is a straight forward exterior handle replacement, I would guess the labor to be about 1.25 to 2 hours. The handle itself may have to come from Ford parts dept and I have no clue how much for the handle assembly.

    Can I replace a door shell on GL450 with a door shell from ML164?

      Will not directly interchange - two different part numbers and applications;

      Mercedes part number for the front door (right side) for the ML164 = A 1647200205
      Mercedes part number for the front door (right side) for the GL450 = A 1667200205

      Thanks for the answer. Some people just say that they may appear similar to each other, but the insides are somewhat different and therefore the whole thing is not possible. So is it still possible?

    Why will radio not accept code?
    I had to have battery replaced, and now radio screen reads: CODE EJ I have tried with no success to enter code I was furnished at purchase. Also, after battery replacement, power windows will not go up. Incidental, or whole other problem?

    Do I have to remove the whole door panel to change the electric window switch?
    There is a small panel that appears to maybe be removed to access the switch

      The door trim panel can stay put. Yes the trim panel surrounding the switch comes off. Probably pries up, but do it with care, and it would be best if you had a MB only dedicated shop manual because I have never done a switch on this car. I'm just saying what is typical. The repair procedure i read iun my limited information system says "remove door liner from front door" but there is only a pic of an arrow pointing to the small trim surrounding the switch. I have never in my 37 years ever had to remove a door panel to replace a power window switch that I can remember. Then after that panel is off there will be two screws evident. Remove 2 screws then unclip it and remove from door panel.

      See this site, one of their articles might give you the idea on how to remove the electric window switch.

      Note: before servicing the vehicle, remove or disconnect the negative battery.
