Why does my car drift to the left and shake on the front left side when I'm driving 55-65 mph?
After noticing this problem about a week ago, I looked under the front end and noticed the control arm bushings on the driver's side were completely gone. How do I go about replacing the bushings [step-by-step] and should I also get the front-end aligned ...

There are a LOT of things that can go wrong! It could need a new compressor or just a relay. A little more information is necessary to make a proper diagnosis.

Passenger side air ride suspension lifts upon starting, then immediately starts to drop
this seems to happen more often than not(dropping), but more often when the weather is cold; doesn't matter whethr driving or idling; the warning always follows: check air suspension system

either the pump is weak and not able to keep filling the air suspension or one or both of the bags are leaking. test it to see if you can hear any hissing noises that might be leaking. otherwise it is probably the air suspension pump dieing

Yes you can, open the nut on the ball joint, put a pry bar to force the control arm down while another person hit with the hammer the area where the nut sits, be careful you dont want to brake any thing and always wear safety glasses.
      Good luck.

What makes the back end of the car so low and bumping the ground and driving rough?
160,435 miles, check air suspension light came on and beep sounded. We changed out the fuse, but air suspension bags don't seem to inflate and back end of car is almost dragging the ground. I can't seem to find air suspension bags in the parts listing??

They are called air springs. Determine that the air suspension compressor is functional by hearing it run. Check the fuse of course. If the compressor runs then the cause is likely that the rear air springs are porous and leaking, but if the compressor NEVER turns on then the cause is likely to be a bad air suspension module behind the glove compartment.

      1. Check fuse F1-10 10 amp in the engine compartment fuse box and fuse F2-8 10A in the interior fuse panel to make sure both fuses are present and have voltage on both sides.

      2. If the fuses are OK, verify the Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) actuator is connected (this will be the actuator on the rack with a Light Green/Black (LG/BK) and Light Blue/Yellow (LB/YE) wire to it).

      3. If the actuator is fully connected, backprobe the two wires and check for voltage with the engine running at idle (normally voltage will be roughly 6-10 V). If voltage is present, but there is low or no assist, suspect a faulty VAPS actuator, or a defective rack.

      4. If there is no voltage, check each wire between the VAPS module and the actuator for high resistance, open circuit, or short to ground. Repair the wires as needed and retest.
      Potential Causes:
Power Steering Rack And Pinion Assembly (not that cause you replaced it)
Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) Actuator - possible
Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) Actuator Wiring - possible
Variable Assist Power Steering (VAPS) Module - possible

Air suspension light on.. air pump doesn't turn on. Is this a major problem?
    • Bobby

Without the air suspension the car will sink and cause damage to other steering and suspension components. check the trunk to make sure the air suspension switch isn't turned off.

Air bag warning light stay on. What is wrong?
I cut air suspension off to change rear tire. turn back on after tire repair. Notice air bag warning light flashing 5 times then stays on. is this related to turning off air suspension.

It could be. maybe when u turned it back on the car wasn't level? They are so touchy and expensive. But you can get it tested with a tester light. (probably at the dealer?)

You might have a leak, of course, just like mine...

It very likely needs the drive axle on the side that you hear the noise from. Your description is classic symptom of a bad outer CV joint which is part of the drive axle.

You need to get your cv joints checked ASAP. Mine came out of my transaxle only 2 days after hearing the sounds. Kind of weird, but true..
