Hid replacement low beam. No longer manufactured by Sylvania and Ford doesn't stock. Help! Can I adapt halogen instead?
The design is for D/C to the light assembly. Sylvania gave up on this method of electrical delivery two years post install into Marks. New bulb and assembly are A/C and that has been the standard since 1999. Best advice, please.

I looked at amazon.com for hid low beam for your year make and model, found some. You'll just have to take a look and see what you think? Them bulbs are pricey, well, they are pricey for me.

The standard replacement bulb is the #9005 (C1) type - available anywhere from around $3.00 each.

Good job, I didn't know that?

      Jimm,
I very much appreciate your response.
I am having difficulty with the 9005 C1 low beam light. The one you reference is the high beam. It is the low beam that seems impossible to find. As the Lincoln lighting system uses a continuously lite system, the low beam stays lit, even when the high beam is selected.
I need the low beam replacement.
I remain open to any help you can provide.

Go to this web site for Lincoln STUFF and there is instruction on how to convert that expensive HID to regular halogen bulbs, Both sides for about $60.00 and it is quite easy and the results are great!

Here is another excellent Mark VIII resource site www.lincolnvscadillac.com
They have some extensive discussions about the replacement kits that are available.

Am having electrical problems with my truck.. it turns on fine but then it turns off and I have to pass cables to turn
I have to pass cables to turn it on again it's not the altinator and I check the fuses and it's not that either

Are you saying you have to use jumper cables to get it to start? I'm not sure I understand, " pass cables"? For a start, no pun intended, I'd make sure the battery has a full charge. Go from there.

Yes I only use the jumper cables when the car turns off by its self.. I bought a new battery and I check the altinator and I check the fuses and everything is good so Idk what's the problem

I'd use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off, what is the reading? Around 12.6 volts is the generic spec for a full charge.

You may just have very dirty battery terminal connections which could explain the jumper cables helping you out. remove both battery terminals from their posts. Wire brush the battery posts until they are silver and then use a battery terminals cleaner brush and clean the inside of the battery terminals. reattach and see.

Change Air filter soon signal on
What can happen if u don't change ur cabin air filter....

    • Jimm
      1/23/2014 Jimm
The cabin air filter is in place to remove the impurities and filter the exterior fresh air coming in to the vents before entering the passsenger compartment. If the cabin air filter is not changed regularly, the vents themselves as well as the filter media can become coated not only with dirt particles, but may also turn to mildew.

it is a good idea to change the cabin air filter on a regular basis. The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities. For example, they (RockAuto) list the cabin air filter from around $8.00 for your vehicle.

      1/23/2014 HouseCallAuto
The main symptom that seems to happen is a severe decrease in the amount of air flow coming out of the vents because the air cannot get through the clogged filter media.

Can The gas tank filler neck vent pipe be repaired
the filler neck drips gas while pumping gas at the gas pump. It does not leak while driving or sitting still

The fuel filler neck is available as a separate part, and the entire filler tube assembly is simply replaced due to the time involved in trying to re-seal or repair.
Check these on-line sources for the replacement parts; www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.fillernecksupply.com, www.black-zone.com - to list only a few possibilities.

The fuel filler neck is around $16.00, the filler neck seal is around $9.00, and the fuel fill tube assembly - from the fuel tank up to the filler neck and seal (where the fuel fill nozzle is placed when at the filling station) is around $88.00 from these sources.

94000 miles the guy before me put stop leak in the rad heater smells sweet heatercore affect the temp
i do not use the heater but do not want core to leak also temp usally onl in normaland bouncesto m

You can bypass the heater core by connecting the two hoses together that go to the heater inlet tubes b ut you will have no heat after that. The heater core will also not leak after that except for the small amount that may still be in there after the disconnect. The heater core in an 89 Lincoln is a big expensive job and not for the average DIY person to tackle.

HOT AIR FROM AC (set to cold)
Start up Engine, Drive, Select AC (on). Cold air blowing. After engine temp warms-up, Pax/right side blows hot air; right/driver side blows cold air. No warning lights, codes, messages on dashboard. . Must shut down AC open windows and drive faster. . ...

    • CVO
      9/7/2013 CVO
Cold on the driver side and hot on the pass side is almost always caused by a faulty pass side blend door actuator.

      Description of the device:

The blend door actuator is a servo responsible for controlling the mix of warm air from the heater core and cool air from the A/C and outside. If it malfunctions, your climate control system may not respond properly when you change the temperature on the climate control system.

Both the manual and the automatic systems use this servo to control the blend door. If your ATC system fails to automatically change temp, this is also an indicator that the servo has failed.

Driver side cold AC; pax side blows hot air
When the AC switched "on" blows cold air from both sides. AS engine temp warms up, the right/pax side brings on the heat !!! . I must shut down the system, not good. . There is no "Preventive" for the category.
