2/5/2013 jspFords and lincolns with the 5.4 triton motor are notorious for breaking spark plugs, You will need a broken plug remover specially made for these motors. If you are not a professional i would highly suggest you go to a ford dealership.

1/19/2013 JimmNeed more information - what is the knocking? Does the sound originate from the heater fan motor on the interior? The heater system has no moving parts - only coolant circulating through a small heater core to provide the heat. The only associated movement would be either the heter / blower fan, or the heater blend door built into the instrument panel to control to flow of the warmed air.
