The replacement drive axle assembly cost from around $46.00 to around $54.00 - for the CV axle assembly itself. Then factor the labor charge- probably around 2.0 -3.0 hours - maybe $200.00 to $250.00 for labor.

Try the 'Estimate Cost' feature this website for the rough repair cost estimate. Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.RockAuto.com or www.autopartswarehouse.com for the replacement parts.

I didn't have this problem before I changes the transmission filter. Is this just a coincidence ?

Please help with this mysterious code 0500. It is drving me crazy.
My vehicle is throwing this code. I have already had the driving sensor replaced. The thing it is doing while driving, it will just lock up, and when you put it into Neutral. You can't even push it, but later when you clear the code you can drive it for a little ...

P0500 means Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction. P0500 indicates that the vehicle’s speed as read by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not working efficiently.

      Possible Causes:

      Defective vehicle speed sensor
Damaged or broken wire in the vehicle speed sensor circuit

      Possible Solutions:

      Reset the trouble code
      Clean the electrical connector
Repair or replace the wires/connection in the vehicle speed sensor circuit
      Replace the vehicle speed sensor

See if the brake lights are working. The brake light switch is the logic behind the shift interlock.

the brake lights are working! again, i did get a check engine light code p1780 which is the pnp or park neutral position sensor.

Ok, I agree. The code P1780 has to be solved first before looking further at the shift interlock problem. May be related.

Check to see if there is anything happening with the lights in the dash. Are the lights dim or maybe a filament broken in a bulb, etc. Check to see if the wires in the trunk lid hinge area are touching. Check the voltage supply from the Park/Neutral position switch at the ECM. Only one input should show 12v at a time.
      Potential Causes:

Park Neutral Position (PNP) Switch — Moisture in the Park/Neutral position switch.
Wires — Wires touching in the trunk lid area. Check for damaged wiring in harness to Neutral position switch above the trans. Check the wiring near the trunk hinge area, in particular the white with black tracer wire.

If the ECM sees the slightest amount of voltage supply on a wire, it will think the shift lever is in that position (as low as 0.3v is seen as 12v by the ECM).

A blown gasket, cracked flange, broken weld, all of which are the result of some change in a constant. A jolt from hitting a pot hole causing a pipe to be dislodged and thus releasing the pressure on an edge of a gasket. This causes the gasket to be blown out and there you have an exhaust leak. The pipe may develop a crack due to sudden temperature changes. Driving on a hot day you go through a puddle and it splashes onto a welded area creating a sudden temperature change and fatiguing the metal momentarily, this happens often enough and this could develop into a crack. Acura's are just as prone to this as any other vehicle, the only difference is the circumstances and causation

Get a second opinion please, is you mechanic saving up for a set of rims? Although of course if the exhaust leak is because of a blown gasket...nah its still to expensive

Did you already check the condition and level of your transmission fluid and diagnose your vehicle with a scan tool to verify if there is a stored troublecode and to check if all the electrical components in your transmission are still functioning well?
