12/9/2010 Nissan Technical AdvisorDid you check the engine with a scan tool already? Your engine problem is more likely the throttle position sensor (TPS) is failing; have it verified by a scan tool.
12/9/2010 Nissan Technical AdvisorCheck engine and transmisson mounts also if damaged. -

Hood latch is stuck. cannot open hood,what now,cable is brokenscott - 1994 Lexus ES300 - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 1/31/2012-
1/31/2012 Spoon SportsHere's what I did:
- jacked the car up
- removed the undertray
- worked my hand up to the latch and just pulled on the cable, it opened right up
Conclusion, the wire must have snapped somewhere between the fender and the inside of the car.

why is my 1999 lexus gs300 tstuck in park!johnnyo1967 - 1999 Lexus GS300 - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 12/29/20111 have to push the park lock mechanism manually with screw driver to get it into drive. also have trouble going to reverse from drive. thinking its the pnp switch on the side of the transmission. someone told me they thought it was the solenoid on the shifter ...-
12/29/2011 Jay GironSeems the PNP switch is the Park Neutral Position switch which is used to sense the position of the shifter. Sometimes these switches may stick or if the car was started/stopped with the shifter in an "in between" position the computer may have seen it as a malfucntion.
I would suggest clearing the code and seeing if it comes back. If it comes back have the switch replaced. Most times these swicthes are on the side of the transmission.

$900high preassure transmission fluid lineMary - 2002 Lexus ES300 - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 12/9/2011162,000 miles....when I took car in to mechanic they showed me a slow leak at place where fluid line connects to part, possibly transmission. They told me it would cost $900 to repair the leak. Is this reasonable?-
12/9/2011 JimmThis definitely sounds like too much. Try the 'Find-A-Shop' feature on this website to gain other cost estimates for this repair.
Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.RockAuto.com or www.autopartswarehouse.com for the replacement parts. For example, the transmission line for your vehicle lists for around $25.00 to $30.00 for the steel pressure line; bulk @ 25 feet length -depending on the inside diameter (5/16" or 3/8") from any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, O' Reilly's, NAPA, Auto Zone.
The transmission pressure line or hose subassembly can even be fabricated locally - for less expense - by an automotive hose shop. Just remove the old one and take to the shop for an exact duplicate - still less than the $900.00.
.
12/11/2011 MaryThank you. I'll check these other resources to save the $$$$$.
