What is the difference between upper and lower Idler Pulley.
I took my 2010 Kia Forte Koup SX to my mechanic because I was getting a noise from my idler pulley. He said it was the "upper idler pulley" that needed replacing. He priced the pulley for $65, but at autozone it is $18. He says the one at autozone is the lower idler ...

The cost of the parts will differ depending on whether they are buying original parts, aftermarket or used parts. The cost also varies depending on the model of car you have.

Replacing the radiator in your car is about a 1 hour job according to Mitchell's. The cost will depend on the labor rate of the shop you use and the cost of the parts and fluids and probably fluid disposal and shop supply fees.

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

      I appreciate the quick response.

1). Check engine light is NOT on. I used an ODBII reader and found nothing in memory.
2). Air filter was changed after most recent oil change.
3). Car has the same kind of regular Shell gas it always uses.
4). Checked spark plugs and wires and no breaks/rips (platinum tipped)

I will check the fuel injectors to see if they need cleaning.

Why does my car turn off when I step on he brakes, but only if the a/c is on?
This has been happening for over 6 months now, but I don't know any reliable mechanics in my area. The car drives fine as long as it's in motion, even with the A/C on, but as soon as I come to a complete stop, it shuts off. It mostly happens if the a/c is on, but ...
