They aren't cheap . The dealer will get one and program it . Also check on EBAY sometimes you can find them there and still have it programmed .

It is common for the wiring between the door and the body to break from repeated opening and closing of the door. It will no doubt be the drivers front door.

What would cause the hazard lights to flash without pressing either the button or the remote?
Have not been near my car in a few days but flashers were on but no alarm sounded

If this has an aftermarket alarm system with a key fob, the alarm systems are wired to flash the parking lights as the alarm is activated. If it has an added alarm that does this, try temporarily disabling the alarm to see if the flashing stops.

The next time this happens, while the dash is out wiggle the ignition key (just be careful not to shut the engine off) so that the ignition switch will be disturbed slightly. if the dash immediately comes back, you have confirmed a bad ignition switch. When the dash goes out, see if you also lose the horn and wipers as well because if you do, that really confirms the bad switch for sure. I am surprised the dealer did not think of the ignition switch as a cause. This is a well known about problem for people that do a lot of repairs on late model Grand Cherokee.

every part of a jeep is bound to fail at one point or the other. the time it takes for the part to stay on and give you proper service depends on the level of maintenance that you have accorded it. recalls are hard to find but I am positive that you will be able to find replacement parts at a cheaper price if you look around. you can also find other accessories for your jeep at http://4wheelonline.com/jeep/bestop.2447

They are called hatch supports or lift supports and are sold everywhere. I will go ahead and post a link to an online source that I trust and you will get them cheaper than the local auto parts store and will be delivered right to your door in a few days.. You need two of these >> http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/.../S2SG314030.html

and because the order is just over $50 the shipping is free.

How do I change the hydraulic lift arms on the trunk lid?
Specifically what tool is required to remove the factory parts?

A simple flat blade screwdriver. The gas springs simply just pop off, and the new ones simply snap back into place - very easy to remove and install.

Repairing an hydraulic is fairly easy on most vehicles. There are some vehicles that will block access to the hydraulic or have confusing custom brackets. In that case, consult your owner's manual or a local dealership service department. For those with easy access, simply open your trunk, secure it in place making sure it will stay open once they are removed, remove the bolts for the old struts, and attach the new struts and bolts in their place http://4wheelonline.com/Smittybilt_Winches.134507

Remove the tail light lens with a Torx style screwdriver. The bolts are accessed from inside the cargo area of the Grand Cherokee, to the left and right of the open hatch door. Inside the housing, you will find a row of three bulbs lined up vertically. The top bulb is the Grand Cherokee's brake lamp, the middle one is the tail light and turn signal, and the bottom bulb is the reverse light. Grab the middle bulb and twist it counter-clockwise to remove it.
The tail light housing is then easily removed once the Torx-style screws are removed. After removing them you can gently pull the whole tail light assembly from the truck.

Several possibilities; stress due to the body flexing (changing the geometry of the windshield posts) - sometimes occurs on off road conditions. Another possibility, is the windshield sealant or gasket overloaded or moved on one side - this would require removal / replacement of the windshield glass.
