Why is my gas pedal not working? My car doesn't accelerate when I hit gas pedal.
I have a 1996 Honda Accord Automatic. 113,000 Miles. As I was accelerating to get onto the freeway, my gas pedal just stopped working. My car's engine did not turn off and my car was still on... It isn't the battery. However, as I pushed on the gas, nothing ...

Several possibilities; clogged fuel filter, faulty fuel injectors, or low fuel pressure. Could also be a plugged catalytic converter.

Plug in a code reader and see what fault codes are there. You can buy a code reader for like $18 at amazon

Why will my gear shift not engage the parking gear.
The car will not start. The gear shift is not engaging the park. It says on the dashboard that it is but when the e-break is released, it rolls. I hear a click, but nothing happens

Sounds like a bad clutch to me. Make sure that one of the axles did not pop out of the transmission.

I went and put my car on a machine and below are the problems wrong with it. I want to know a solution to fix it
Catalyst efficiency low bank 1, stuck in second or third gear, EGR system fault(exhaust gas recirculation), Fuel trim bank one condition, and EVAP emission control system leak detected(control canister system

      5/3/2013 Jimm
      Here are the possible solutions;

Catalyst efficiency low (bank 1) = replace the oxygen sensors

Stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear = replace the transmission fluid and filter, replace the transmission shift solenoid, replace / overhaul the transmission

EGR system fault = too generic - could be many different issues. Can you please be more specific with the precise descrition of the problem or component in the EGR system?

P0170 code; Fuel trim bank 1 condition = It also indicates that the fuel trims reached their limit of adding fuel while trying to compensate for a actual or perceived rich condition. When the fuel trims reach their rich correction limit, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) sets a P0170, indicating a problem or malfunction in the fuel trims. It may also have a P0173 referring to the same malfunction but on bank two.

Possible causes include; a vacuum leak, unmetered air leaks, fuel saturated engine oil Leak in turbo air charge hoses (if equipped) Possibly bad O2 sensor, Oil contamination in MAF connector or O2 sensor connectors. Also check ignition coils, cam and crank sensors, and oil sensor for leakage contributing to oil intrusion in wiring harness. Defective MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.
There are a lot of problems with aftermarket MAF sensors. Defective fuel pressure regulator.

Evap system - leak detected = you did not state wheteher the fault code was P0445 (large leak) or P0442 (small leak).
For the code P0455 = EVAP System Gross Leak (0.080") Detected

      Possible Causes:
Fuel tank cap is loose or missing
EVAP purge control vacuum line is loose or not connected
EVAP purge solenoid is damaged or has failed
EVAP emission canister clogged or restricted

Check the recall information on the AutoMD website. You can also contact the local dealership - provide the vehicle VIN number, and they can check whether the vehicle is part of any recalls.

My check engline recently came on and now my drive is blinking on the gauges; could it be my transmission?

When the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light illuminates on your dash, it means that your vehicle’s computer recognizes that there is a system or sensor that is working out of it’s proper parameters. This indicates a problem, the computer tries to compensate for that problem and keep the vehicle running as close to normal as possible.
Check the vehicle for fault codes to see if there are any sensors were involved to the malfunction of the engine or transmission. There are literally hundreds of fault codes possible.

There's a funny noise, like a bad bearing maybe, that comes from the clutch/tranny area of my civic. Car has 245000 mi.
I just had the clutch replaced but the noise is still there. When I depress the clutch pedal, the noise stops, when the pedal is released, the noise returns. Sounds kind of like a "whirring" noise. The car shifts fine. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. ...

      Hello
I assume that the noise was there before you had the clutch replaced? Was the throw out bearing replaced along with the disc and pressure plate? It sounds like a throw out bearing issue to me. Or it could also be an input/main shaft bearing gone bad.
      Hope this helps
