9/14/2012 GeorgieBoyFloydTransmission is pretty much done. I had a 93 Accord Ex that drove perfectly fine and then one day it suddenly did the same thing your car is doing. What happens is that at Cold-Start it is all good but as it heats up the transmission valve body ceases to function and that's a wrap. So do yourself the gigantic favor of not attempting to drive it and either do a rebuild on it, or go to Pick Your Part (Salvage) and find a temp tranny for it...or junk it and use the money towards a newer-used car. Honda is known for its reliable motors but on the flip side they have always had issues with the transmission.

9/12/2012 rickRC is right . But should have told you replace radiator AND have coolant flushed . You want ALL the oil out of coolant system . A new radiator is the only fix too . No bandaid for this . Check with a radiator shop for $ . Most times they can beat part store $ for OEM . That's what they do . FYI most newer radiators can't be fixed .
9/12/2012 hoursThanks Rick, OK-I understand that the ATF has to be flushed out of the cooling system but what about the transmission? It doesn't appear to have coolant in it, however, I can't be sure as it just touches the bottom of the stick. (I estimate that about a quart escaped into the coolant before I noticed it) Could the coolant get into the transmission?

My father told me my drive shaft has a teeny pinhole in it. What does that mean and what problems could arise from it?jeepluvuaa - 2001 Honda CR-V - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 9/12/2012Also, what is a driveshaft ??-
9/12/2012 rickThe hole he talks about is in the rubber boot on the CV joint . After time the grease in there will come out and dirt and water will get in . Should be thinking about replacing it before to long . The driveshaft is what goes from the tranny to the wheel to turn the wheel . One on each side to each front tire . The CV joint is part of that shaft where the wheel turns back and forth . Hope this help clear it up .
