Low long horn sound from rear when car is moving backwards (in reverse).
Manual transmission. When I move out of 'reverse', but car is still moving back, the sound continues until I actually start to move forward.

You have to remove rear wheels and examine all components. Maybe the parking brake is stuck. Very high probability.

Its a automatic. What causes the car to stay in 3rd gear and not into overdrive?
It doesn't happen all the time. Its starting to happen more often. When in 3rd gear the motor revvs up and the rpm also goes up.

Why has my Flywheel cracked in each of the past 2 years?
ODO 242000 A mechanic rebuilt the transmission in 2010. In 2011, It begins with a wobbling rotation of the parts around the transmission, felt more while car is at rest. This rough rotation intensifies within about 3 to 4 months and out-rightly develops into a ...

You mean the same bolt comes loose again and again? If so could be he fails to install locking system on the bolt. Important bolts on any engine usually have locking systems to prevent them from moving, but , all techs. know this I'm sure.

Why does my car hesitate when I step on the gas?
My car would hesitate when I step on the gas. It stopped after I had all 3 engine mounts replaced, but now it's back to acting weird. Is that my transmission?

Depends on what type of hesitation youre referring to.Normally hesitation comes from a dirty air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump issues, dirty or leaking injectors, and vacuum leaks.Sometimes a sensor can cause problem-tps,map,ect,ait,or dirty mass air flow sensor. The tranny also has sensors that control its shift points and torque converter lockup.Low tranny fluid, dirty fluid and filter can also cause slipping or hesitation.

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

My car starts and runs fine. But when I shift it into forward or reverse, the engine dies almost immediately.
This seems to occur when the engine is warm. After I let the engine cool a bit, like after I had it towed to the mechanic, it shifted into gear just fine.

Air conditioning does not work. Any help or suggestions?
I've tried putting more refrigerant in the system, but it already reads like 100psi or something outrageous in the line. When I turn on the A/C in my car, there is air coming in but its not cold. I don't think its the blower motor? Any suggestions?

First check to make sure all fuses and relays are working properly.100 psi sounds high to me.Im assuming you hooked up to correct hose fitting cause there is a high side and low side. The compressor could be shot too

Are you using one of those do it yourself cans with the gauge on it? Some times the quick connect
fitting doesn't depress the shrader valve in the low side service port. That would explain the
100psi you're reading on the gauge. In other words, you're reading the pressure in the can.

What does the VTM-4 light mean when it comes on?
It started once the vehicle reaches 60 MPH. It is a 2004 Honda Pilot.
    • wbrockstar
      7/17/2013 wbrockstar
In most cases it will come on because you have a malfunction in your (1) IAC-idle speed control valve or your (2) EGR valve......The check engine light may or may not come on too. When vehicle senses that one wheel is getting less traction such as in slippery/wet or certain other conditions, the computer reduces engine power for the purpose of gaining traction.Autozone will scan the vehicle for free so you can check for any codes.VTM stands for vehicle traction management.Computer can also transfer more torque to the wheel with better grip to also aid in gaining traction
