4/23/2012 HouseCallAutoPlug in a code reader to the diagnostic connector under the driver side dash. The connector should be in plain sight while crouching with the driver door open. On some cars, the connector is not there but what is able to be easily seen and read is a decal telling you the actual location of the connector. The code reader can be any code reader, they all do the same thing except as they get more expensive you can read more data besides the fault codes. All cars however, even Ferrari must have the same diagnostic connector since 1996. Post the codes here.

12/5/2010 Great Lakes Auto WorksI know this is an old post, but I assume you don't drive the car often and may still be having the problem. This car has CIS injection (very efficient and easy to diagnose system). What your describing seems like a problem either with the fuel distributor timing (or the distributor itself). Do you see any fuel leaking from any sensors around the intake area? -
4/13/2011 Mark L.A shot in the dark would be..... what area of the country do you live. Do you think it is possible that the reformulation of gasoline for the diffifent seasons could have this effect. I have noticed a slight performance and starting difference in my pininfarina coached roadster during cold weather gasoline formulations. Maybe you could find information on an additive or such that plays games with your car. Although being a 308 it may not be as sensitive as my 1990s era car. hope this helps.

How do I get to the left side fuel tank? I think I have a leak coming from the vapor liqid separating manifold?Dan McBride - 1990 Ferrari Testarossa - Engine - 12/5/2010I've removed the under body plate but cannot see where its leaking as it seems to be running down from the top of the tank. Can you get to the top of the tank through the interior?-
12/5/2010 Great Lakes Auto WorksI've seen the filler hoses crack near the tank. There is also a hose on the bottom of the tank that goes to the right hand tank. Those leak too. It's been awhile since I seen one of these apart so bear with me. On the right hand tank, there is a vent tube that comes off the top and goes over to the fill neck. That'll crack and cause leaks. As far as access goes, you should be able to get to it from inside if I remember right, but If you have leaks you might as well remove the tanks and replace all the hoses.
