It is a 1978 dodge 318 do i need the flywheel with 143 teeth cause the 130 is a long way from the starterjoe - 1980 Dodge D150 - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 6/18/2010some say use the 130 with different starter some say the 143 iam a certified mechanic but got the engine from a guy in pieces now i rebuilt the engine what flywheel do i need-
6/18/2010 HouseCallAutoThis is one of those questions that few (even the best) mechanics will know the answer to. You need to find out how many different flywheels there are for this engine application and look, measure, decide which one is needed. You are the star of your show, that is what I have learned over the years when I was asking others for answers I never got. Use all the sources you can, stop at a Chrysler dealer with coffee and donuts and that may be the best shot at accurate info. I still do that. Sometimes when I need a lot of info I do Pizzas and garlic knots for a half dozen guys. Trust me, they will almost assemble the job for you.

Cv halfshaft stuck on output shaftJohn - 2000 Dodge Intrepid - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 6/10/2010-
6/10/2010 HouseCallAutoSometimes they are very stubborn. Use a wedge between the tran case and the inner cv housing. Be careful though. Be precise about where you pry against as you do not want to crack the trans case.
6/11/2010 Johnhave tried every pry bar I have and am now using a hydrulic puller with a spreader( birds mouth) and it is still on the vehicle this is tougher than rebuilding the engine.

Transmission will not shift out of first gearWilliam - 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan - Transmissions & Drivetrains - 6/9/2010-
6/9/2010 HouseCallAutoTry a battery disconnect for a few minutes and check the fluid level. It is in what is called "limp" mode because there is a problem and the transmission computer has defaulted to this mode to protect the trans from further damage.
