My car produced these codes p1776, p0700
In addition to the codes my transmission has a hard upshift. It was rebuilt 50,000 miles ago with most use of old parts. The hard upshift happened after the rebuild continuously. Now my engine light is on and I felt a temporary loss in power. I haven't been driving ...

These codes means the transmission is going into limp mode because of a malfunction. Usually it is a bad shift solenoid, which is located on the transmission itself, and can go bad when metal shavings get into them. Which would make sense if you had to have it rebuilt. The only way to be sure, is to have a transmission shop look at the codes from your transmission control module. If this is what is bad, it is much cheaper to replace it yourself. The code reader said p1776, p0700.
130,000, prev trans rebuild, shoddy work, most use of old parts, hard upshift. I have limited experience and basic skills. Can I do this myself? Can you tell me how much it might cost to do it or should I find another shop? How much would the shop charge?

The wheels seem to be locked up. We aren't sure what it is. We thought maybe the transmission but are wondering what else would cause the wheels (front) to literally be locked. We can barely even push it with another vehicle. Engine runs fine. We were able to just ...

I stopped at and pushed in cluch pedal felt a little bump when pedal was down when released pedal had no cluch.

your clutch plate could have got stuck on the input shaft they usually get stuck with the clutch engaged but they can wear a groove in the shaft and get stuck in that groove. oh just the pedal you lost if the secondary cylinder isn't leaking the primary is bad the seal can go bad letting oil bypass the piston it works by hand but with pressure on it it just bypasses.

If you have no pedal then usually a master or slave is the issue. Did fluid level drop. I would try bleeding it out. If pedal doesn't improve than you need to replace them both. Doesn't sound like anything mechanical.

fluid level looks to be fine. would they be leaking fluid if they go out?

Sometimes they do. They may also just go out internally where you would never see any sign. Most slaves have a bleeder. Have a assistant help with bleeding. Reservoir is small so you have to keep it full. Have a assistant hold pedal to floor while you crack open bleeder.Tell assistant to keep pedal down until you shut bleeder than repeat. You don't want him lifting pedal with bleeder open. You just draw in more air. Repeat more and top off fluid every other time. If you don't get a pedal then replace master and slave.

    Having shifting problems
I have a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel w/automatic transmission displaying code p1693. Has shifting problems. Can't seem to get a straight answer, just that it's a companion code, and a lot of maybe's. Have had scanners of all kinds hooked up to it and they all come back ...

Yes it is a companion code. It just means that there is another code stored and you need an obd2 scanner to extract the other code. It may be a pending code. But there's no real way to tell what the problem is unless the other code is pulled.

Shifting problems however can be related to a large number of problems in the car. I don't know too much about diesels so I'm not going to throw out answers here. Wish I was able to help more. Perhaps there is another member here who knows more on this specific situation

Thanks for your help. I own an obd2/eobd scanner, use to own a genesis but got stolen, so I replaced it with the cheaper one. I retrieved the p1693 code using the freeze frame feature but no other codes are present, am I doing something wrong, or do I need a different scanner? I sincerely appreciate your help. If possible can I retrieve the codes some other way?

When you retrieve codes there should be at least two options. They should be "stored codes" and "pending codes". It wouldn't make sense for that companion code to exist if there wasn't another code. Some of the cheaper scanners will not read pending codes. I paid 150 for mine and it reads live data , freeze frame, and pending codes. The cheaper ones like under 50 usually won't read live data feed or pending codes.

I tried that, but both present and pending codes come back no codes. Only on freeze frame mode do i get code p1693, but my scanner does read data, the same as yours. Any ideas, it's a brainer and your help is appreciated. Thanks

Code U0101 = lost communication with TCM (transmission control module).

There are several possibilities for the cause of this fault code. Start with the simple and easily determined; check the TCM wiring and connections to and from the control module mounted just underneath the instrument panel.
Be sure these are properly connected and no wiring damage, no chafing or holes in the insulation. Check and clean all connectors to the transmission, check the ground at the transmission control module and the connections to it. Something in the wiring is not letting the signal from the transmission control module display it's results to the master electronic control module (ECM). It's likely a fault in the wiring harness somewhere between the transmission and the TCM, or the TCM and the ECM.

Rubbing sound from the front of the car. When I get up to 20 mph and on I hear a rubbing grinding sound..
it makes that sound when th car is moving.. When it idles I don't hear anything.. We check the passenger side wheel bearing and it wasn't that. Its very frustrating..

Check to make sure clearance between fender and tire is sufficient. Is this a front wheel drive vehicle? Also check to see if brake pad linings aren't completely worn down. If the lining has worn away, the metal from the pad backing will contact the metal rotor surface. Usually this is obvious if you observe the condition of the rotor. Deep grooves usually indicates this condition. If the vehicle is front wheel drive, have the cv joints checked out.

Anyone have any info on a 2006 5.9 litre cummins 3500 4x4 automatic transmission, that is throwing code P2121?
While driving the accelerator occasionally loses action. Believe this has been called dead pedal, and also is not shifting properly...

Replace the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. Probability here is greater than 90%.

Won't go into park or neutral and won't start up right away.
When car is put into park or neutral the light box around the selected gear disappears. If we shut it off it stays in P but will not start up. However if car is left sitting anywhere from minutes to hours the box will reappear and car will start as long as we let it ...
