Remove the pan on bottom of trans

      You will see the filter

Best use the Neoprene Gasket -not the folded up cork & rubber
ones in a box from the auto parts stores

Get your filter & gasket from a trans parts supplier or a local trans shop

Look at the parts sites for what it looks like

Only use the ATF+4 & no additives

A fluid change WILL NOT FIX a transaxle problem
It may however cause it to slip even more

2007 dodge ram 1500 2WD has a grinding noise coming from rear of truck, what could it be?
Sounds like brakes rubbing on rotors, but it is not the brakes. Sounds starts once in drive at about 3 mph & stays constant while driving. What could it be?

How do I change the crankshaft sensor?
Could you also tell me its location?

On 6-cylinder engines, this sensor is a Hall effect device that detects notches in the flexplate.

The notches generate pulses from high to low in the crankshaft position sensor output voltage. When a metal portion of the notches line up with the crankshaft position sensor, the sensor output voltage goes low (less than 0.5 volts). When a notch aligns with the sensor, voltage goes high (5.0 volts). As a group of notches pass under the sensor, the output voltage switches from low (metal) to high (notch), then back to low.

No you will need to reprogram it to match the VIN. and beside what make you believe this is a issue with the TCM? This can be just a faulty shift solenoid, pull a code

Serious vibration/side to side shaking when accelerating in the 35-55mph range. What will cause this?
CV joints replaced tie - rods replaced/alignment done New tires, balanced and balance recheck - no separation I don't think it is front end/steering related rebuilt transmission installed 2 years ago

It could possibly be a vaccum line leaking until you are at a high rpm and it finally smoothes out

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.
There are literally hundreds of possible fault codes - so for sake of simplicity and to assist the diagnosis and repair of the issue you are having, this step is fundamental.

P0500 means Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction. P0500 indicates that the vehicle’s speed as read by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not working efficiently.

      Possible Causes:

      Defective vehicle speed sensor
Damaged or broken wire in the vehicle speed sensor circuit

      Possible Solutions:

      Reset the trouble code
      Clean the electrical connector
Repair or replace the wires/connection in the vehicle speed sensor circuit
      Replace the vehicle speed sensor

Stuck in 2nd gear and check engine is on
    p0700 and p0605 and p1685 codes

The P0700 itself simply means that there is a fault code stored for the transmission.
The P0605 - Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM) Error - more than likely the fault is in the transmission control module.
The P1685 code is ikely the key or the immobilizer module (SKIM)
