Are the front brakes locked? If yes, check these items; disc brake caliper (frozen or corroded), contaminated brake fluid, faulty flexible brake hose to one or more front caliper.

See this Balky rotors can be freed with a light-duty puller- or Fig. -or a plastic mallet wielded with care.

      Five stud rotor.
      Raise and support the vehicle.
      Remove the wheel.
      Remove the brake caliper.
Remove the retainers on the wheel studs and remove the rotor. If stuck, the rotor can be freed with a light duty puller or a plastic mallet. Do NOT use excessive force.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

      Ram (8-Stud Rotor)
      Raise and support the vehicle.
      Remove the wheel.
      Remove the hub extension.
      Remove the brake caliper assembly.
Remove the axle nut cotter pin. Remove the axle nut.
Disconnect the ABS wheel speed sensor wire from under the hood. Remove the sensor wire from the frame and steering knuckle, if equipped.
Back off the hub/bearing mounting bolts 1 / 4 inch each. Then tap the bolts with a hammer to loosen the hub/bearing mounting bolts.
Remove the bolts and remove the hub/bearing assembly.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Observe all tightening torques as found in the specifications charts. Use a new cotter pin and apply anti-seize compound to the axle splines.

anytime the abs light comes on it will trip the brake light also. You need to take the truck to a shop and have them scan the abs system. When you find out the codes you can repost them here and we can help you through a repair.

Brake warning light comes on while driving over 60 MPH
All fluid levels are OK and lihgt resets when ignition is turned off
    • CVO
      5/30/2012 CVO
1.Could be a weaken warning light switch triggered it..
      2. Or the master cylinder primary circuit started to develop a problem.

Note: car brake systems are broken into two circuits, with two wheels on each circuit. If a fluid leak occurs in one circuit, only two of the wheels will lose their brakes and your car will still be able to stop when you press the brake pedal.

check your rear brakes for anything leaking onto them, such as brake fluid from blown out wheel cylinders or gear oil from leaking axle seals. also it could be a wheel speed sensor.

Yes - several types of brake calipers and brake pads may be purchased and considered as heavy duty - look for the name brands, and inquire if for taxi, police, or severe service-type applications.
Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; or for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list a severe duty front brake pad for around $10.90 for your vehicle; Wagner PN SX857. The heavy duty front disc brake rotor is Raybestos PN 780049 for around $37.00 each for your vehicle.

Some industrail trucks ive worked on have proportioning valves tha will cutoff one wheel from the brake system i f it develops a brake fluid leak. if you have all wheel abs it may be something with the valves they use for that..but im not really sure ,just a possible idea. You are removing the master cylinder cap when you push the pistons back in?
    • frank
      5/15/2012 frank
yes i am i replaced the brake hose the caliper does go back now but im hearing a squeaking only on turns and you can tell its a circular moving part cause the squeaks are timed perfect, i have new rotors, pads and calipers and now a new hose, but the temperature on the same side that i was having problems with, is still running hotter than the passenger side, and that awfull squeaking i wonder if the squeaking and the extra heat being generated on that side is a bad hub bearing??? is that a possibility?? its so hard to pinpoint a squeak when you only hear it while turning....
      5/16/2012 david
Probaly could be a bad wheel bearing did you check the wheel for free play from side to side ?could it maybe be your backing plate?
