What would cause the inside of the windows to fog up after 10 or 15 minutes?
I don't smell antifreeze and there is no oily film left on the windows.

Water that is trapped in the HVAC housing because of a clogged condensation drain. Have you been using the AC, have to ask because most of the USA is not in AC weather yet, because using the AC is really the only way the water condensation could build up IF the drain were clogged with debris.

Most likely cause is a broken wire in the wiring harness that is under the door. This harness usually just gets replaced. Its called the "cable schlep" and all the dealers keep it in stock because it is a high failure item.

Try disconnecting both battery cables (I said BOTH) and touch them together for a minute. Then reattach them, pos first, then neg and see. If that does not work then fault codes have to be read with professional scan tool.

You most likely have a faulty mode door actuator. there is an actuator that moves the air direction between the panel vents and the floor. It is not moving. The mode actuator in question is noted as #1 in the link I provided you for reference but the picture I linked here is for a ac / heater system that has "dual-zone" option. The single zone system which you likely have would be the mode actuator furthest left (of the two marked by a "1")

How do I fix a turn signal problem?
I have already replaced the bulb, but am still having the same result.

Not enough info, which turn signal is it, front/back, right/left? Could be turn signal switch or wiring circuit. Did you check voltage and ground for the bulb?
      jdl
      2/6/2014 jdl
Just to add, because your instrument cluster and totally integrated power module are involved with your turn signals, I'd have to check applicable trouble codes for those systems. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. I just don't know if they will check B and U type codes?
    • HouseCallAuto
      2/6/2014 HouseCallAuto
Yes, like jdl said, you have to clarify exactly what the turn signal problem is. I *might* be able to give you something to go on but need more details.

Do I need to reprogram control for heater/ ventilation system? Or could something else have gone wrong?
Car is in good condition and kept in heated garage. The heater/ ventilation control (hi/ bi-lev/ lo/ lo & defrost/ defost only) has worked fine since new - until an outing on the COLD January 7 we just endured! After the car sat outdoors for three hours, it ...

Probably has a bad mode door actuator but this is a 6 hour job. The only programming procedure there is relating to the HVAC system is what is called a cool-down test but if that test were needed there would be leds blinking wildly on the wiper buttons and heater / ac buttons.

How to replace headlight assemblies on my pick up
I need to r and r both headlight assemblies on my 2007 dodge ram 1500. both are severely discolored and cloudy . How do I accomplish this.

Generally you first raise the hood on the truck. Then, locate the the screws on the top and side of the headlight that hold it in place and remove them. Next unplug the wire connection on the rear of the headlight housing.
Next, you should be able to slide the headlight out with some force.

The parts are readily available; try these on-line sources; www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities. In fact they (RockAuto) list the replacement headlight assemblies from around $64.00 for your vehicle.

This site doesn't have an instruction yet to remove the headlights of your specific vehicle, but just take a look to get an idea with other similar cars

Light around key hole won't go off?
The light that is around the key hole won't go off when I turn the car off, it stays on continuously. Would this be causing my repeated dead battery?

The key illumination is on the same circuit as the interior lights which of course illuminate when any door is opened. You did not mention anything about interior / courtesy lamps remaining on so I am assuming that they are not, but it could mean that a door jamb switch is no good (remaining active when door is closed) and that the interior light bulbs are all either missing bulbs or the bulbs are burned out. And yes that will kill your battery. Does this vehicle have a time delay feature that turns off interior lights after like 15 seconds or so after taking key out and closing the door?

I pulled the fuse on the interior lights yesterday, my overhead lamp was shot. I just went out there and she turned over just like normal. That seemed to have been the culprit! Glad she is fixed!

The blower motor replacement is easy. Look under the dash on the pasenger side, and you can see it. Its just three screws that hold it in, and unplug it. Then just replace the new one in position.

The parts are readily available; try these on-line sources; www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the blower motor from around $39.00 for your vehicle.

*probably* has a bad blower motor resistor. Check and see if blower motor terminals are receiving battery voltage on one wire of the plug and a ground on the other wire of the plug with the engine running and heater and blower turned on highest speed (just use a 12 volt test light) and if there is battery voltage but no ground then the cause is likely a bad blower motor resistor.

Not difficult to replace, the seals either press in to place, or use weatherstrip sealant to secure.
