Power windows work intermittently. They stop working when it gets warmer.
All of the power windows stop working, mainly when the temperature gets warm. They usually work when it is first started, but then stop working as it warms up. When it cools off, they work again. It has been doing this for awhile, but is getting worse over time.

When the wiondows stop working, see also if the heater blower is also not woirking and if that is the case then your cause is a bad ignition switch.

Can passenger window be secured with cement on clips?
Passenger window had new regulator installed. The window keeps falling out of the clips. I have fixed it twice already and after a week or so of closing the door, it falls again. Can I use cement on the window clips to MAKE it stay????

There are no rules here. Obviously there is something wrong that you cannot see, but if some kind of glue will work, go ahead and try it.

My only concern with the glue is: Should the slides or the glass need to be replaced at some point...bonding them together would require replace BOTH.

But since there are no rules...I'm all in! Thank you!

What is wrong with my car when door windows won't roll down but sunroof works?
I replaced the fuse and nothing change. When I first notice the windows won't roll down, I tried them again later and they rolled down but stop. Now they won't roll down at all.

Most likely the problem is caused by a faulty window control switch. To test this, remove the driver side door panel for access to the window control switch. Then, using a jumper wire - go around the window switch to activate the window motor in both the up and down direction. If the window motor and regulator operate OK at this point - replace the window control switch.

The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the window switch (front left) from around $37.00 for your vehicle. Airtex /Wells part # 1S2150 or equivalent.

Check the driver side door jamb wiring for a broken wire. . Check the voltage on the wires at the master switch in the different switch positions with everything connected. The Tan wire should be battery voltage. The Black wire should show no voltage.

Water that is trapped in the HVAC housing because of a clogged condensation drain. Have you been using the AC, have to ask because most of the USA is not in AC weather yet, because using the AC is really the only way the water condensation could build up IF the drain were clogged with debris.

Most likely cause is a broken wire in the wiring harness that is under the door. This harness usually just gets replaced. Its called the "cable schlep" and all the dealers keep it in stock because it is a high failure item.

Are there any led lights at all at the buttons? Any of them? Are any of the led lights on the buttons blinking? Or they are all dark? Check fuse 24 and fuse 25 in the interior fuse block.

Try disconnecting both battery cables (I said BOTH) and touch them together for a minute. Then reattach them, pos first, then neg and see. If that does not work then fault codes have to be read with professional scan tool.

You most likely have a faulty mode door actuator. there is an actuator that moves the air direction between the panel vents and the floor. It is not moving. The mode actuator in question is noted as #1 in the link I provided you for reference but the picture I linked here is for a ac / heater system that has "dual-zone" option. The single zone system which you likely have would be the mode actuator furthest left (of the two marked by a "1")

How do I fix a turn signal problem?
I have already replaced the bulb, but am still having the same result.

Not enough info, which turn signal is it, front/back, right/left? Could be turn signal switch or wiring circuit. Did you check voltage and ground for the bulb?
      jdl
      2/6/2014 jdl
Just to add, because your instrument cluster and totally integrated power module are involved with your turn signals, I'd have to check applicable trouble codes for those systems. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. I just don't know if they will check B and U type codes?
    • HouseCallAuto
      2/6/2014 HouseCallAuto
Yes, like jdl said, you have to clarify exactly what the turn signal problem is. I *might* be able to give you something to go on but need more details.
