The fuel pressure is on the end of your fuel line going to your fuel tank. It is beside where you should put the electrical connector in your fuel pump assembly.

My car will start ok, but will stop while driving. Poss its the alternator?

Local auto parts stores will test this vehicle charging system with their mobile analyzer for free of charge and they will determine an exact answer.Give them a call.

Please expand this with more detail. "will stop" is not sufficient for me to work with. Please be explicit, there is plenty of room here to write. You are driving along and then....................??? And then...............? And then..................?? It restarts OK or not? All detail before, during and after. If the cause is an alternator, then that would mean that at the time that it "will stop" your car battery would have gone dead and would restart only with a jump start from another battery.

Found an older post from last year that contained the fix. Press and hold the odometer reset until a diagnostics begins to run. After the diagnostics completed, both gauges worked fine.

If the simple trick doesnt work...

I would first remove the IOD fuse to reset the BCM, clean the terminals on the battery, and trickle charge it to full capacity over night. This may solve the problem. If it doesn't...

It could be the solder joints are cracked on the instrument PC board. I would say that was gordonblackler's problem. The negative terminal overheats, melts the solder joint, which cracks as it cools. it then makes contact intermittently or becomes intermittent when it heats up. Slapping the dash top sometimes fixes the problem temporarily.

For your wiper, i would first check if it works when i use the washer, i mean the wiper has many modes and depending on what doesnt work, it has another solution.

Check engine and transmission mounts if broken. Also check drive belt tension if loose. The a/c freon charge must be checked if low and recharge accordingly.

I had about the same trouble with my 2007.
I checked the freon & partial charged the A/C system.
I wonder if many of the Pt Cruisers loose freon for whatever reason.
When the freon level gets somewhat low the engine will have an erratic idle & the system won't cool inside the vehicle.

What is the smell in my defroster?
have a smell when defroster is on.Smells like freeon has 28,000 miles on it,no lights come on only, the air in tires light.

the a/c evaporator could be leaking. When you turn on the defroster the a/c also turns on to dehumidify the air inside the car. the dash usually has to be removed in order to replace it.

Either the evaporator or the heater core, one or the other. OR, maybe there is a small leak of something in the engine compartment and the smell is getting sucked inside the cabin. '07 evaporator or heater core is possible but the vehicle is still kind of new for that stuff going bad.

Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) are bulletins issued each year by car manufactures with up to date factory fixes to help service departments with common or difficult problems. On TSB’s the manufacturer has no obligation to notify customers or make the repair at no cost. A TSB may include updated part numbers and repair procedures and does not imply an extended warranty for a problem.

The best thing about finding a TSB that seems to cover a persistent problem in your vehicle is that dealerships will make the repair for free, provided that the vehicle is under warranty and service advisor and/or technicians are able to confirm that the problem exists.

You will notice that TSB online are just summary, if you want to obtain a full TSB report you can purpose it online or visit forums for your vehicle. All TSB's are submitted to NHTSA, as required by law, where they become a matter of public record and will also be provided to vehicle owners upon request.
