Loud nocking in rear end, when coasting and then accelerating
My 2007 GMC made this same noise and they would take the drive shaft out and put grease on the yoke. Chevrolet dealer said this would not be required on my 2011 chev. Now the last few weeks there is a popping noise when the transmission shifts about 30 to 40 miles ...

It does that to tell you that your traction control senses slip on one of the wheels and is transferring some of the spin to the other wheel(s). May be related to one or more wheel speed sensors.

What causes the backlash in the drive train when you let off the gas, then quickly apply gas equals a clunk.
This problem is similar to the rear wheel drive noise in the differential between the ring and pinion gears that have worn, resulting in a clunk when you give just a little gas. Chevy dealer says "backlash" is in spec but has not identified just where the backlash ...

It depends. I would have to drive it and see if I agree that this "clunk" is an abnormality and if it is as you say and i agree that it is wrong to be there, then I would suspect a loose part in the drivetrain anyplace. The vehicle is almost new so normal wear and tear does not apply here. Engine mount, transaxle mount, transaxle itself, loose bolts someplace...

The drivetrain noise as 'clunk' indicates a not normal condition - excess backlash and noise in drivetrain or gearsets within the transmission is not acceptable, especially with such a new 2012 model year vehicle.

Take the vehicle back to the dealership for warranty service and diagnosis until they have resolved the problem for you.

What would cause my rear tire to start to come off
for about 2 months i have experienced hard steering, soft brakes, vibration in the floor boards, the bed of the truck feeling like its dog tracking and, most recently, the rear tire started to come off while driving. when parked it appears that the same tire is ...

Inside the rear differential there are U-shaped retainers that prevent the axles from walking outward and there have been cases of these U-shaped retainers wearing out and allowing the axle to move sideways. Get this checked asap and I would stop driving the truck immediately before you cause a crash.

On the inside jam of your passenger door or in the glove box bottom you will see a decal with many many 3 digit codes showing. Look at the codes that begin with "M" and M30 = 4L60E and MT1 = 4L80E

Your welcome Lester. Make sure its just the seal leaking after you get the tranny away but the rear seal housing gasket should get replaced also. Its right there. It may even come with the seal in the kit.

Button enabling the shifter handle to move is stuck and I am unable to take the vehicle out of drive and put in park. I shut the vehicle off before I realized there was a problem and I am unable to restart it.

Where is the neutral safety switch located on a standard transmission that requires the clutch to be depressed.
Vehicle will not turn over to start when clutch is depressed and all other avenues checked.

Typically, the neutral safety switch would be located on the side of the transmission adjacent to the shift levers and linkage. The neutral safety switch is easily replaced - one electrical connector to unplug and one threaded fitting to loosen and remove.

The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources, www.partsgeek.com, www.rockauto.com, www.discountautoparts.com, www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.jcwhitney.com - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the neutral safety switch / range selector from around $11.60 for your vehicle.

I think that you can see the place where the shifter engages with the shift mechanism in the tranny and you can move them back with a suitable long reach tool. I even remember something like this happening to me maybe more than 20 years ago.

Need to know if there's a flashover process for the PCM or ECM to fix trouble code P 2716
I know what the code is just wondering if this will work or not

P2716 = Pressure Control Solenoid “D” Stuck On

      Possible Causes:

Shift solenoid (SLT) connector is damaged (check pins for damage, moisture)
Shift solenoid (SLT) control circuit is open or shorted to ground
Shift solenoid (SLT) has failed (electrical fault)
      ECM has failed

Check with the dealerships - often the ECM is under an extended warranty and may be replaced for free. The reflash / reprogramming of either the PCM or ECM will need to be completed by the dealerships.

On GMC models made before 1996, disconnect the battery to clear all the trouble codes stored in the computer. On vehicles made after 1996, clear the codes using an automotive scan tool. Test-drive the truck to verify the repair.

The scan tool can be found at any local auto parts store - they will usually read and reset any codes for free.
