What would cause a grinding noise when turning left?
Not sure how many miles, definitely over 150k. Had the car for about 3 months (can't take it back, bought from owner). About a month in, it started making a grinding noise (sounds like a rhythmic "whump whump whump") when the steering wheel is turned to the left ...

Got a bad rattle when I go over bumps on front drivers side.
When I go over repetitive bumps up front on drivers side makes a bunch of rattling, wondering if it could be a really worn shock or something more?

Yes it could be a shock, hub cap, brake hardware, tortion bar bushing.

Why do I have a creaking or tapping noise when I make slow turns?
My Chevrolet Malibu has 203,000 miles and about 6 weeks ago started making a creaking or tapping noise when I make slow turns. The radio controls on the dash also started acting up and I can no longer adjust radio volume from the dash...only from the steering wheel ...

Could be a really loose tie rod or CV joint going bad in you axle. These vehicles also have lower ball joints that go bad in lower control arms and sometimes intermediate shaft will pop and clunk on turns or over bumps.

I have this vehicle and am a mechanic. I only have 118,000 miles on mine and haven't experienced that issue but what you can check is what the previous person said, the CV joint may need lubrication. Also check your power steering level and steering column for proper lubrication. :)

Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) are recommended steps and procedures for repairing vehicles. A TSB is issued by the manufacturer when there is a growing trend with an unanticipated problems, but does not warrant a recall.
Most repair shops can look up TSB information to get the recommended repairs from the manufacturer.

Rack pinion leaking pwoer steeering fluid
The clamp that holds the expanding dust boot that covers gear shaft that moves in and out of the rack is missing. I noticed this when I started losing power steering fluid and had to fill the resevoir every couple of weeks. When I thurn there is pwoer steering ...

The dust boot is for......protection from dust and dirt. It does not hold fluid. The reason for the fluid leak is a faulty seal - so the rack and pinion unit should be replaced.

Check the various on-line vendors; www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.RockAuto.com, www.partsgeek.com, to list only a few. For example, they (RockAuto) list the rack and pinion from around $192.00 for your vehicle.

If the brake master cylinder leaking fluid - this would be brake fluid and not power steering fluid. The brake master cylinder leak indicates a worn master cylinder seal or piston.

Check the various on-line vendors; www.autopartswarehouse.com, www.RockAuto.com, www.partsgeek.com, to list only a few. For example, they (RockAuto) list the brake master cylinder from around $42.00 for your vehicle.

The brake master cylinder is easily replaced-check the 'How-To-Guides' feature on the AutoMD website.
