paper towel was accidently lodged down into gas tank and coat hanger couldn't get it out. it will not take any gas now

Is it the fill pipe that is clogged? Look under the vehicle at the fill pipe, can you take anything loose, to make sure the fill pipe isn't clogged? The gas level in the tank has to be lower than the fill pipe, if you take anything loose. You also have to be careful of fire and sparks around gas fumes.

As far as checking the gas tank, there may be an access panel in your trunk? You'll have to look and see, you may have to remove carpet. Then remove fuel pump, take a look in the gas tank. Make sure no pressure in fuel lines before taking anything loose.

Another thought would be to check your evap system, make sure it isn't clogged.

Just remember, no fire, no sparks, no pilot lights, no nothing around gas fumes.

I addition to the paper, there maybe partial blockage with the fuel door flap. The best fix is to lower the fuel tank, remove the filler tube to clean out.

How do I change a headlight bulb on this car
I cant see how the bulb comes out

      1) Set the parking brake and remove the keys from the ignition to ensure your Chevy Cobalt won't roll while you're replacing the headlight bulb.

      2) Open the hood by pulling the hood release latch located under the instrument panel on the driver's side of the car. Locate the secondary release latch on the front of the hood at the center, slightly towards the driver's side. Slide the latch to the left to release the hood and raise it.

      3) Locate the headlight assembly and remove the bolts by turning them counterclockwise. Set the bolts aside in a safe place, so you won't misplace them.

      4) Remove the plastic fasteners from the headlight assembly molding. Carefully pull back the front fascia, or molding. You may need an extra pair of hands to perform this slightly awkward task.

      5) Grab the headlight assembly and pull it towards the radiator at a slight angle to remove it. This should provide easier access to the headlight bulb and wiring harness.

      6) Lift the plastic locking tab on the wiring harness to disconnect the bulb base. Then, disconnect the wiring harness from the bulb socket and remove the black retainer by turning it counterclockwise.

      7) Disconnect the bulb socket by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the old bulb from the socket by firmly, but gently pulling it straight out.

      8) Replace the old bulb with a new 9007 LL halogen headlight bulb. Put your headlight assembly back together by reversing the steps when you disassembled it. Use 89 inch-lb torque when retightening the headlight assembly bolts.

There is only two to three screws to remove, it's very simple. Make sure to have a specific information about the part such as a side ( left or right ), finish etc....

Windshield wiper only work on high
windshield wiper only work on high. doesnt work on any other speed.

With key on, wipers on low check for voltage on gray wire at wiper motor module, that should be low speed voltage. If no voltage, suspect the wiper switch. If voltage and no wiper action, suspect the wiper motor/module.

I can't rule out wiring circuit issues, at the moment?

How do I replace the fuel pump? Is there an access under the rear seat?
The fuel pump either reads full or empty. Nothing in between that. The check engine light is also on. This never happened before I lost my fuel gauge

Several possibilities; worn fan belt, faulty belt tensioner, faulty belt idler pulley.

The parts are readily available from these many on-line sources,,,,, - to list only a few possibilities.
In fact, they (RockAuto) list the belt tensioner from around $45.00 for your vehicle.

There are many electrical wire harnesses that run under the carpet on both sides. Look for electrical issues caused by corrosion. Airbag fault codes could be a issue as well. You may luck out or they may developed over time.

      Is there fuel ?
Have an assistant to turn on the ignition switch, while you listen to the fuel pump running for 2 seconds from the uncap fuel tank filler. No noise, take the next step.
Try giving the bottom of the fuel tank a few whacks with a flat piece of wood or a rubber mallet while another tries to start the engine. You have a 50/50 shot at getting the pump going again and the vehicle starting. if it starts as a result of the whack then it confirms the bad fuel pump.

Note: Spray some aerosol starting fluid into the throttle (CAUTION: Starting Fluid is Extremely Flammable!). Then crank the engine. If the engine starts, you do NOT have an ignition problem

      Is there a spark ?

If the engine has no spark, check for voltage at the coil positive terminal when the ignition key is on.

If there is voltage, the problem is on the trigger side of the coil (pickup, crank sensor, ignition module or primary wiring circuit).

If there is NO voltage at the coil, the problem is on the supply side (the ignition switch or ignition wiring circuit).

If the coil has voltage, the problem may be a bad high voltage output wire from the coil to the distributor, hairline cracks in the coil output tower, or cracks or carbon tracks inside the distributor cap or on the rotor.
