    1989 Chevy G20 Power Window
The window motor runs but does not move the window up or down on the drivers side. Makes a grinding noise. Is it a gear problem on the motor or a regulator problem?

You should remove your door panel to check the operation of your power window regulator/motor/switch and check the connectors/wiring.

Speedometer not working - Its probably a bad speed sensor (do have the cable type? if you do then the cable is probably broken)
Odometer not working - i believe you have the mechanical type so the worm gears are probably busted

Tachometer not working - It runs from the gauge to the distributor, cable probably broke

You know what, i'd go to a pick and pull yard and get a new console.

The removable roof has never been taken off and is difficult to remove now.
I have loosened the bolts but am still having difficulty lifting the roof off of the car. What can I do without damaging the removable roof or the weatherstripping seal?

Try to lubricate it with oil or go to a vehicle parts store and ask what lubricant is best to apply in your roof without damaging the weather stripping seal. I think it’s WD-40.

Could be an issue with the body control module programming. Need someone with a Tech II scan tool to check how the locks are programmed to operate (doors lock when put in gear, all doors unlock when put in park, etc.) . Could also be a wiring issue, bad ground, corrosion on a wire terminal, etc. Paying for a real diagnosis is often less expensive than replacing parts as a guess as to what it might be.

    What controls my high beams?
My high beams stopped working, I saw no fuse or relay for them, so I changed the switch-got nothing, changed the two bulbs-still nothing. What else controls the high beams? Did I miss a fuse or relay?

The headlight relay, it is usually located on your fuse box under your hood. Did you already check your headlight bulb and your headlight switch?

Ahhh, then i would do is do the other way around, get a radio that you like, then fabricate a housing for it.

Like in my case, i always wanted to own those 7 inch LCD display head units for my car, but my existing radio housing won't accomodate it, so i went to an audio shop and told the guy to make it fit.

      Customizartion is the key here.

When I turn my head lights on my tail lights go out
I have replaced ALL fuses and bulbs. The tail lights work (brakes, turn signals, parking lights) until you turn the switch to the head light position. I have replaced that switch also.

Check the ground wires at all the lights , Do you have have a trailer hitch and trailer wiring?
if so check your connections at the rear of the truck where they were connected look
under the truck you should see a three way connector with ground wire(s) coming out towards the bumper or spare tire going to the frame some where check the ground you have a ground problem you need to trace those wires and clean the connection

Front passenger door will not open
All the door locks energize except the front passenger door when using the remote. The key will open all the doors except for that one. What parts and how to make repairs.
