What's wrong when I drive the front tires rub against the frame and have gone completely ball within 2 weeks?rod37 - 1989 Cadillac Seville - Steering & Suspension - 8/23/2011-
8/23/2011 JimmSeveral possibilities; worn control arm bushings / mounts, worn / faulty ball joints, worn wheel bearings or front spindles. Check the 'How-To-Guides' feature on this website to check the front end and components for wear and looseness. -
8/23/2011 Spoon SportsGo to an alignment shop, thats the only way to find out what needs to be fixed based on the figures the laser will give you. But 2 weeks then completely bald? My hunch is a bad toe in or out problem. But it can be a lot more worse than that which is busted suspension components or shocks
Please do not reply by clicking "Reply". reply by clicking "Answer Question" so it will reflect in my INBOX so i can get back to you if something comes up

With 50,000 miles, makes a roaring/humming noise depending on speed. Mechanic said differentials are going out. REALLY??tbondgirl - 2005 Cadillac Escalade - Steering & Suspension - 7/28/201150,000 MILES "CHECK TIRE MONITOR" AND "SYS STABILITY DISABLED" TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO HAVE NEW HUB ASSEMBLY PUT ON AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS DIFFERENTIALS, IS THERE ANY OTHER POSSIBILITIES, NOT SO EXPENSIVE?-
7/28/2011 JimmNeed more information; where is the roaring / humming sound coming from - at the wheels or more towards the rear in the center? Is the noise localized - seems to come from one specific area? Several possibilities based on the information provided; faulty bearings - in axle or differential, low fluid level in rear differential / axle, faulty wheel bearings.

I need to know how to chande the tire on my cadillac. i cant get to the lug nuts because of the spokes hub cap.levi - 1991 Cadillac Brougham - Steering & Suspension - 7/27/2011-
7/27/2011 JimmTypically, the spoked hub cap has a seperate key to unlock the hub cap (locked for security by the hub cap design). Usually you'll need the specific key to first unlock each hub cap to remove and access the lug nuts - the hubcap key may be located inside the glove compartment. The hub cap lock is usually located under the hub cap center cover or emblem.
Once the hub cap is removed, the vehicle can be raised on the corner to remove / change the tire. With the transmission in Park, and the vehicle on a fairly level surface, then raise the vehicle using the supplied scissor jack or a suitable hydraulic floor jack. Be sure to support the vehicle with a weight-rated jack stand - do not rely on the jack to support the vehicle.
Loosen and remove the wheel lug nuts, then remove the tire. The installation is the reverse of the removal.

The car has only 7,400 miles. The ride is now really soft and not tight at all. The dealership says this is natural.CJB41 - 2011 Cadillac CTS - Steering & Suspension - 7/25/2011What are your thoughts. I have owned 15 new cars and have never experienced this issue - so quickly.-
7/25/2011 JimmCheck the tire pressure and adjust slighty to firm up the ride - just do not exceed the tire pressure maimum rating on the sidewall of the tire. Most new vehicles suspension will tend to settle and break-in somewhat given time and mileage accumulated. Some GM vehicles have an adjustment to the struts and shocks to let the driver choose beteeen several settings.
7/26/2011 CJB41Thank you - right now the air pressure is 35 - the recommended amount. Can the dealer change the strut settings - and / or can any independent shop do it?

7/22/2011 yboy82You should verify first if there is still stored trouble code in your vehicle after you've delete/reset it. You can navigate this link http://www.extreme-check-engine-light-codes.com... to have an idea ho to extract stored trouble code in your vehicle without using a scan tool and there are some common codes meaning on that link for your reference.

When i move to the next lane while driving it sounds like my tire rubbing against something what could it be?andrewmoffett32 - 2001 Cadillac DeVille - Steering & Suspension - 7/5/2011I hit a big rock in the middle of the road one night on the driver side and after that it has been making that noise, i changed the cv axle cause it was leaking green stuff but that wasnt the problem, so i was thinking it could be the wheel hub but it just make the ...-
7/5/2011 Nissan Technical AdvisorIf the steering feels stiff and requires a lot of effort, the rack piston seal may be leaking pressure or the pump may not be producing adequate pressure. A loud whining noise often borders on squealing. It becomes loudest during the turn and then drops down. Many people would attribute this noise to a problem caused by a bad power steering pump. However, the problem mostly arises due to a loose power steering belt. When you take a turn, the belt travels through the steering wheel pump's pulley. When it has gone loose, it does not follow its normal trajectory over the pulley and slips, when the tension on it increases during a turn. That causes the whining noise when turning steering wheel. Another problem causing the whining might be worn pump bearings. You must check for both. To do that, you must open the hood and have a look at the power steering assembly. Check for the tension on the belt. If it's loose, just tightening the belt might solve the problem. If the whining persists even after tightening the belt, you will have to check for worn bearings.
