My vehicle shimmies (wheel and steering wheel) only when i ease my car to the right as in changing lanes
mileage-130 k happens at any speed is this a broken belt in the tire?

A high speed shimmy is usually caused by a wheel that's out of balance or a bent wheel.

The first thing to check for would be a bent wheel. Raise the front of the vehicle off the ground and rotate each wheel by hand. If you see any sideways or in and out movement of the wheel, it is bent and needs to be replaced.

WARNING: Although some people claim they can straighten bent wheels, doing so is risky -- especially with aluminum alloy wheels. Replacement is the safest option (but also expensive).

If you don't see any sideways movement in the wheel, it doesn't necessarily mean the wheel is straight. There may be just enough sideways runout to cause a shimmy, but not enough to see. To find this kind of problem, you'll need a dial indicator. More than about .050 inch of sideways runout can be enough to cause a problem.

If the wheels seem to be straight, have the balance of both wheels checked (or rebalanced). If that fails to cure the shimmy, you may have some kind of tire problem due to defective belt alignment or tire construction. Other causes may include loose or improperly adjusted wheel bearings, insufficient caster alignment (check and readjust alignment as needed), or a worn steering damper (on trucks or other vehicles equipped with a steering stabilizer).

How do I go about replacing the rear drivers side wheel bearings

The rear wheel bearing are pressed in bearings. You will need a few special tools to perform the job.

Replacing the hub assembly is easier that replacing just the wheel bearing.

Should I get a alignment before or after replacing all ball joints?
So I took my escalade to the Cadillac dealer for alignment. But they are refusing to do the alignment until I replace all my ball joints. Are they right not replacing all ball joints at the same time will defeat the purpose of getting the alignment or do it really ...

Yes, that is correct - you'll need to replace any worn components before getting the wheel alignment. This is because the wheel alignment cannot be maintained with any worn suspension components - such as ball joints. The alignment settings will merely change as the worn components allow the tires to change position; i.e. to change alignment.

WIthout seeing it in person, may take on it would be you bent a tie rod which is connected to your steering. I dont know obviously if it reached up to the rack itself.

I cant see the damage so i cant comment on what should be done, best i can do is narrow things for ya.

Why is my power steering fluid leaking out. I have a 2001 Cadillac Sedan Deville.
It makes a wihining noise. And the power steering fluid runs out as soon it is put in.

Several possibilities; leaking steering pump, leaking steering pressure hose, leaking steering return hose, leaking steering rack assembly. First step - is to determine which component may be leaking. Add fluid to the system, wipe off and clean up the possible leak points; end of the hoses, along the steering pump hose connections - to get a clear view of the fresh leak. Next, start the engine and observe for any leaking at those points in particular.

My 2006 DTS has a tilt and telescopic steering wheel which is stuck in a inconvient posistion.
I had a slight binding and noise when turning in either direction, a GMC mechanic advised the problem was minor. and he would call me when he had more time. Its now stuck as stated and the mechanic is not available. Any idea what the problem could be?

Why is the tilt/telescoping steering wheel stuck in a very uncomfortable postion?
A slight binding was felt in the steering, as though something was rubbing internally. neither tilt or telescope.work. No fuse indicated and indicated (CB4) circuit breaker, appears OK.
