How do i change the waterpump drive belt?victorott - 1998 Cadillac Seville - Preventive Maintenance - 11/18/2011before i start removing nuts to get to the belt,is this an easy job or not one for a non-mechanic?-
10/19/2011 Spoon SportsUse a socket on the bolt head and an open end or box wrench on the nut. Loosen the nut and then pull the bolt out of the "dog bone" aka torque strut. Rotate it up and out of the way. Now look at the belt tensioner. There is a 1/4" square hole in the back side. Use the drive lug from a 1/4" breaker bar or ratchet to rotate it and relieve the tension to get the belt off. Inspect that tensioner closely. -

10/20/2011 peterwhen align a car ana the car keep on wanders to one side of the road what is going on. -
11/18/2011 Spoon SportsWhen does the car pull? Does it happen when you are driving on a straight flat road? Is it only when you are accelerating? Does it pull only when the brakes are applied?
If the car pulls while driving at a constant speed on a straight flat road, then you either have a tire inflation problem, mismatched, or defective tires, an alignment problem, or possibly a sticking brake caliper.
A slight pull under heavy acceleration on a front wheel drive car may be normal. This is called "torque steer" and is caused because the front drive axles are not the exact same length (not a defect, just a fact with most FWD designs) The transmission is not located in the exact center of the car, and on axle must be longer than the other. This causes a pull under hard acceleration!
If you have a brake problem, it could also cause the car to pull when the brakes are applied.
Check the tires for obvious problems and correct inflation. If they seem ok, have the car checked by a qualified mechanic.

What does the service ride control warning on dashboard means?caddy - 1996 Cadillac DeVille - Preventive Maintenance - 11/7/2011-
11/7/2011 Spoon SportsGet it scanned because there may be a fault in the power/ground procedures of the pcm
You might get these
I052 keep alive memory loss
IO39 road sensing data loss
your struts are probably fine, the PCM will flash a code pertaining to each strut if there bad, the rough road may be aggrivating your PCM's power and ground connections

How to service the tire monitorjames - 2006 Cadillac Escalade - Preventive Maintenance - 10/13/2011Tire monitor needs service-
10/13/2011 Spoon Sportshe learn mode will cancel if:
if more then 2 minutes have passed and no sensors have been learned,
or if the PDM has been in learn mode for more than 5 minutes.
If the learn mode is canceled before any sensor has been learned,
the PDM will remember all current sensor Ids and their locations.
As soon as the fist sensor Id code is learned, all other Ids are erased from the PDM's memory.
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Apply the parking brake.
If the TPM learn mode cannot be enabled, ensure the TPM system
is enabled in the PDM. Refer to Control Module Setup .
3. Turn the exterior lamp switch from OFF to parking lamps 4 times within 4 seconds.
A double horn chirp will sound and the low tire pressure indicator will begin to flash
indicating the TPM learn mode has been enabled.
If a horn chirp does not sound after 35 seconds for any of the 4 sensors, turn the
ignition OFF to exit the learn mode and repeat the procedure from step 1.
4. Starting with the left front tire, hold the antenna of the controller against the tire sidewall close to the wheel rim at the valve stem location then press and release the activate button and wait for a horn chirp, or increase/decrease the tire pressure for 8-10 seconds, or until a horn chirp sounds. The horn chirp may occur before the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached, or up to 30 seconds after the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached.
5. After the horn chirp has sounded, proceed as in step 4 for the next 3 sensors in the following order:
1. Right front
2. Right rear
3. Left rear
6. After all sensors have been learned, exit the learn mode by turning OFF the ignition.
7. After the learn mode has been exited, adjust all tire pressures to the recommended kPa/psi.

I rotated tires, pressed relearn tpms, now theres no psi reading,it says service tire pressure monitor, is there a toolAJ - 2006 Cadillac DTS - Preventive Maintenance - 10/3/2011-
10/3/2011 JimmThe repair shop will use a tool to communicate with the sensors and check their health and pull any stored trouble codes from the receiver to see if there is a problem there. What is found will determine what action must be taken to "service" the system and turn out the warning.
10/3/2011 AJThanks so much jimm, can u recommend a shop that would carry that type of tool to communicate with the sensors besides a dealership ?
