1/1/2013 JimmSeveral possibilities; faulty ignition switch, faulty starter, faulty wiring or stater connection. First step is to isolate the probrlem; jumper around the switch to activate the starter.

1/6/2013 franksounds like maybe a power or ground problem, make sure ur getting the proper voltage at the starter and make sure you have a good ground,the ground is the starter, so maybe take it off, and sand the mating surfaces to assure a good ground.

Replaced the large belt. 12/26/2012 MikeSounds like the idler or tensioner bearing failed. Check for loose pulleys.
12/26/2012 mamasreadingThanks so much for answering. How do you check this and do the bearings need to be replaced? I am just trying to help my son-in-law. Bless his heart he thinks he can fix anything and he is pretty good most times, but these things do happen . He is really frustrated because this is their only means of transportation. -

12/30/2012 mamasreadingHi Mike, We've taken the pulley off and it is not damaged. Do you have any other suggestions to what it may be? Could it be another one of the wheels (?) that the belt goes around? The people at auto zone said that the only other place the bearings could have come from is the alternator.

12/22/2012 JimmP0741 - Torque Converter Circuit Performance or Stuck
The torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid is faulty or stuck off. Look for a wiring problem or if you have access to one a scan tool that will actuate the TCC for you.
P1860 = Torque converter clutch solenoid. Similar issues as code P0741 - there have been issues with the 20 pin connector at the transaxle (poor fit and/or loose terminals) but likely you will need the TCC solenoid replaced. It's located inside the side cover so the transaxle will require removal.

12/17/2012 JimmRandom misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.
Check for any air leaks around the intake.
The P0302 code targets the # 2 cylinder specifically - same issues to address.
