My car's interior sentential light stays on after the ignition is turned off and continues to stay on.Dave - 1990 Cadillac Eldorado - Body & Interior - 10/15/2012How can I resolve the interior dash and on board lights staying on after the ignition is turned off. I have to disconnect the battery ground cable to prevent the battery from discharging overnight. What's the solution to the problem?-
5/10/2011 HouseCallAutoPlease clarify what lights you are referring to specifically. Please explain how you define "interior dash and on board lights". And these lights are remaining on after the key is turned off and removed from ignition lock and door is closed, correct?
5/10/2011 DaveThe lights are green, Radio channel, date/time, fuel amount in gallons. At times these lights flicker. -
5/11/2011 kentaken from 1991 manual the vf displays are controlled by bcm ,reg illuminating lights from ip fuse,only one input is always hot on BCM -outputs 5V to tan wire. theres also a 16V or/blk output wire -hot in run and retained accy power.maybe it has something to do with RAP relay, it shows 2 of them should be #2 relay, both those wires feed fuel radio clock

5/11/2011 cadiemanpush the off and warmer buttons on the info. panel.when all segments are lit and write the codes down. well see if setting a code.

5/16/2011 DaveThanks for your suggestion. When I turn off the ignition and shut off all the light on the in board
dash (neon lights and time of day) stay on. If left on it drains the battery. I can't locate the source of the problem as to way it continues to stay on. If I simultaneously (off/warmer) button the time will go out and sometimes the on board will go out. If I don't disconnect the ground from the battery post the car battery will discharge when the car is parked or not running. Any suggestions? -

9/1/2012 Bill SeyfarthThanks for the help Ian. Where is the window fuse located? I was away for 14 days and it rained hard with a lot of water getting in the trunk. Could the water have caused the problem?
