      Check the fuse 6 ( 20 A )
The fuel pump is activated with the combination of the fuel pump relay and the oil pressure switch. One of them is bad.Check the oil pressure switch and replace it as necessary.

I changed the oil sending unit. I cleared the codes. I started it up and it ran perfect for about 15 minuets and died. So I pulled off the codes. I no longer have code 17. I now have code 58. I'M totally confused !

High probability of bad ignition module. Replace it, but only do so if you have confirmed that during that period of time after it stalled and will not start you have no ignition spark.

if you still have a code 58 and it still stalls when hot then you may have a bad passkey theft deterrent module. Is there a security lamp on or flashing? You have lost injector pulse which is what the theft module does when it disables the vehicle when it sees a "tamper" or something that emulates a tamper like a bad module or a bad key cylinder. To rule this out just bypass the anti-theft system by doing a google search for "passkey II bypass" and do what it says. will require a visit to radio shack for some 30 cent resistors.

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

      1. Check the FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
      1992 Buick Lesabre 3.8L SFI OHV 6cyl
      The Fuel System Pressure

41-47 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in the off position. Install a fuel pressure gauge to the vehicle fuel rail or fuel pressure test port.Confirm that no leaks are present, and visually verify the PSI reading on the gauge with the ignition in the on position.
If the fuel system pressure isn't in the specifications, replace the fuel pump.

Why does electrical system go haywire when I engage turn signal

I would replace the turn signal switch assembly.Sounds like it has gone bad and developed an issue causing a short in all electrical systems inside steering column. Also check for any bare wires around steering column.Youll have to remove plastic trim to check

Injectors don't acutate: ECM or bad ground or...?
Cranks but won't start. I've narrowed it to injectors not actuating. Has 12 volts, but the noid light shows no grounding (possible ECM). A bad Passkey system can shut off fuel, but the security light does not flash and the dash monitor recognizes "Driver 1." ...

What is causing service engine light and generally bad behavior?
I have a 1999 Buick Century which recently had the service engine light come on; 149000 miles. The car is shaky when idling and is slow to accelerate as well. I had the O2 sensor replaced 1 week ago when the light came on and this seemed to help initially but the ...

One thing you can try is unhooking the neg battery cable for 5 minutes then hook it back up.Start it and see if light goes off.Sometimes the car needs to be driven 10 miles so the computer relearns its idle strategy. Not all,but most of the time a bad sensor is responsible for check engine light.Autozone will test it for free, then youll know what sensor or system is responsible for the bad running condition. There are numerous sensors that can cause shaky runnin condition

Under the dash / instrument panel on the drivers side in plain site while crouching down; there is a diagnostic connector that looks like this >> https://www.google.com/search and you can buy a code reader from Amazon for under $20 here >> http://www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_1 and after you plug it in and read the codes which takes just two minutes, you can update this same post with the error code numbers and then we can tell you (probably) what you need to do to fix the cause of your problem. This is standard procedure and cannot be skipped over in favor of any other way to decide the cause of your car problem. By the way, I welcome anyone answering questions can copy and store this generic answer in their archives as a standard answer for future similar questions asked. This can be reposted freely.

    Where is the vapor canister

    • Jimm
      7/2/2013 Jimm
The emission system vapor canister will either be located; under the hood - by the firewall behind the engine, or in the rear of the vehicle by the fuel tank, or behind the front wheel inside the wheel well.

Check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.partsgeek.com, www.carpartswarehouse.com, or www.rockauto.com for the replacement parts. For example, they (RockAuto) list the vapor canister from around $86.00 for your vehicle.
