Is a handheld OBD I scanner worth the money?simida - 1998 Bentley Azure - Body & Interior - 5/4/2012Found that the local auto parts store sells OBD I scanners fairly cheap. But I am wondering, will it tell me if I have a bad sensor on the car? The car is a 93 ford explorer.-
5/4/2012 JimmIt can - depends on which sensor is involved. You can also take the vehicle to any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA - to have the fault code and diagnostic system scanned for free.
Then, reply to the AutoMD website with the specific fault code to determine the next steps to resolve the issue. -

Can I clear ABS code with OBD II USB Software for a 1998 Durango?simida - 1998 Bentley Azure - Body & Interior - 5/4/2012hi. Is there an USB OBD program that will allow me to clear an ABS light for a 1998 Dodge Durango? I have a USB OBD Scan tool and can only clear check engine light codes.

5/4/2012 davidAs long as you don't listen to people like Richard and buy the wrong one. OBDII didn't exist in 93. You need an OBDI.
It won't tell you everything. The devices that give you real time data from a running engine are a lot more expensive. The $50 scanners only let you read and erase fault codes. And not all bad sensors are interpreted as faults.
now the obd2 have more function and good to use, you maybe would like to buy a new car, the obd2 support a lots of car product after 1996 and it is cheap for you :
