1999 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) Sport 6Cyl4.0L - Transmissions & Drivetrains
There is scraping sound like metal rubbing together in the back end.
Put new breaks on and cleaned the breaking system off.

    maybe the rotor is rubbing against the metal backing plate / splash shield because the shield is loose, maybe the axle bearings or pinion bearings have failed badly. Jack up each rear tire and spin one at a time by hand (vehicle in neutral and wheels chocked) and listen for the same noise that you have been hearing. Then determine the origin.
