2008 Mercury Milan Premier 4Cyl2.3L - Preventive Maintenance

I removed a plastic film headlight protector from a headlight. How do I remove the film's adhesive from the plastic?

I have tried wd40. 3M suggested sanding.

  Do not sand - this will ruin the headlight lens and finish. Try some clear plastic polish; such as Meguirs Clearx - or equivalent.
