what is a reasonable prince to replace the timing belt when it breaks?

    It may be a little to late if u wait til breaks.It the engine its a interference engine and the timing belt breaks the cost its gonna be high,depends on the damage.Timing belt replacement should be done as preventive maintenance.

    This job is about $700 in labor plus parts. Parts could be another $400. If you wait till it breaks then you will have a bill of about $3000 and in some cases the engine has to be replaced because of damage.
