Would having a new rack and pinion installed cause my car to jerk when turning and accelerating from a stand still?

New rack and pinion installed and now when I turn wheel all the way to one side and accelerate ( ex: reverse from a parking spot then turn wheel all the way and accelerate to leave), my car jerks until I straighten wheel back out.

  Was an alignment performed after the steering rack was replaced? This could possibly be causing the issue on sharp turns if the alignment is way out of adjustment. Hope this helps
