Bobby 3/24/2010Next step would be to test the cluster, can be complicated though you'll need the wiring diagram then check the voltage at the cluster to see if there is a problem there. Try testing at the sensor too make sure it is getting proper voltage and ground. -

HouseCallAuto 3/24/2010In a database of problems and confirmed fixes I see many many speedometer problems with Corolla. It seems that almost all have posted confirmed fixes of replacing the instrument cluster (speedometer) so the handwriting is on the wall. The test procedure is not for the average guy. It is lengthy and requires driving the vehicle while monitoring three different circuits with meters. I say change the speedo.

Gilbert Brito SR. 3/25/2010Thanks Bobby & Kevin for your information how difficult is replacing the speedo or should i take it to a shop ? -
HouseCallAuto 3/26/2010If you're a bit mechanical and patient (because you are taking out small screws and such) , you can do it. Make sure that you just have the proper repair manual in front of you with step by step. The best manual of course would be the one from Toyota. By the way, many larger libraries have ALL the factory repair manuals in the reference section. And they have copy machines.
