1994 BMW 525i Base 6Cyl2.5L - Transmissions & Drivetrains
When in park the car will still roll. All other functions seem fine.

    that is most likely an internal transmission problem, i know on some transmissions they have what is called a parking pin this keeps the transmission from being able to rotate when in park. That can break

    Any change it could be a linkage problem that is external to the transmission?

    It's probably not the linkage. I'd go with Bobby's answer. Did anyone accidently put it in park before the car was fully stopped? That would confirm it as the parking pawl or pin.
