Why overdrive is not working?????????

My overdrive is not engaging these van have a three speed transmission with electronic overdrive, it will work up to three speeds bought the overdrive is not responding

  It is possible that your actuator or the electrical connector in your overdrive is loose/damaged/faulty. If possible diagnose your vehicle with a scan tool to determine if there is a stored trouble code in your vehicle.

  For a 27 yrs old vehicle, over drive gear could be worn out and not engaging. You have no problem with 1,2,&3.
