1986 GMC C7000 C7D042 8Cyl10.4L - Engine

lose power and mis fires sometimes

when it loses power when giving it the gas it misfires sometimes. Could old gas cause this problem? could I clean fuel with fuel cleaner or do I need to drain gas?
