Why is my interior heat not working, car is overheating and I smell antifreeze when the heat does sporadically come on?
For a few months, my car interior heat only works when I turn the heat fan off and on several times. It will work a little while then blows cold air again. Recently, it is going way into the red, the car is overheating and if/when the interior heat will come on the engine heat goes down a little and I smell antifreeze...

CVO 3/20/2013Loss of coolant because of a coolant leak is probably the most common cause of engine overheating.
The heater core leaked, replace it and the overheating will go away. -
neomyejohn 3/21/2013There must be a leakage in the coolant that is distorting the normal performance of your engine. Have it checked out.
