1991 Mercury Sable LS 6Cyl3.0L - Engine

I just installed a new Alternator and it wont charge the battery. What should I look for?

  Double-check the alternator wiring, the connections. Next, check the battery terminal connections - plus make sure the negative cable connection - opposite the battery is clean and tight. Then check the drive belt and belt tensioner - make sure the tensioner is not faulty / has proper tension on the belt.

  Check and confirm if there is no battery voltage at the heavy wire that attaches to the rear of the alternator. If no battery voltage there then there is a burnt open fusible link. The fuse links are located near the starter relay on the driver side inner fender.

  Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me locate the Starter Relay, It's not where the diagram i have shows, near the driver's side fender. Also, I have a starter solenoid, does that mean i don't have a starter relay?
