HouseCallAuto 9/21/2012Probably not the spark plug, probably a bad coil. The spark plug comes out after the coil is unplugged and the retainer bolt removed and the plug comes out with an extension and spark plug socket.

HouseCallAuto 9/21/2012If there is something in the way that does not allow clearance, move it. In many cases it looks impossible to gain enough clearance to remove a coil and boot but it can be done. Remember, most coil boots have some flexibility to increase your angle of exit. Obviously, the firewall can't be moved, but maybe the thing that is interfering is just attached to the firewall and it can move?
