It is located at the left rear of the transmission. Unbolt it and replace it. It is also known as the transmission range sensor.

The neuatral safety switch is on a 1995 ford thunderbird. I think the switch that you are refering to is on a newer vehicle. My thunderbird would not start unless I pushed the shifter all the way forward hard. Now the car wont start even if I push the shifter foward. The reason I know about the range sensor being on a newer model is because I read it on another blog. I appreciate you answering me and would appreciate it if you could let me know if you have a answer to why my car wont start.
