1984 Chevrolet K30 Custom 8Cyl6.2L - Transmissions & Drivetrains
how do you know if the rear differential is functioning right without pulling the pan?
my k30 m1010 cucv military ambulance only has 28,000 actual miles on it but the rear axle (gm 14 bolt full floater w/detroit locker)sometimes makes a loud noise and seems to be slipping maybe on one side or the other alternately while driving after shift points .I tried jacking it up so that both wheels were off of the ground in neutral and put a block of wood on one side to stop the tire and pushed the other sides tire and the tire will break loose and turn if i force it to and make noise in the rear end sort of like clicking like wheel of fortune. Is this rear end damaged or is there a way to test it ?
