  Start your engine
  
  Check your tail pipe if it is emitting white smoke, which is actually steam, because coolant is leaking in the the engine and comes to a point where water turns into steam because of the heat
  
  Pop your hood and check the block, a blown gasket is hard to miss, at the same time your engine will have rough idling and sputter.
