What can cause heavy vibrations & hard knocking coming from the front end?

Major vibrations and strong knocking coming from the front end felt at the wheel and just about throughout the car,axle assembly is good on both sides had it checked.

  Axles are the least of your concerns for vibrations and knocking. Its your shocks absorbers and bushings that needs to be checked. Who knows it might even be your control arms.
  
  Get back to me once you get the part that neds to be changed, I MIGHT have a manual lying here somewhere.

  I had this issue - in my case, it was the driver shaft. It caused a strong knock that could be felt in front.
