  I would check the grounds behind the fuse panel under the dashboard. If they are dirty sometimes it won't work. Also, a stuck float in the tank if it was sitting for a while. I'm not an expert but both would be good to check, a stuck float means a dirty tank, a dirty tank could mean a new fuel pump and bad grounds can cause all sorts of electrical quirks, I'm going through them with mine right now...
