2009 Ford Flex Limited 6Cyl3.5L - Body & Interior
Fuel filler issues, is there a cheaper fix than $500.
Car has no gas cap, supposedly the fuel filler door is made to cover fuel fill neck, unless the cheap plastic part has broken off. Any body else had that problem? The dealer wants $ 500 to replace the whole filler neck. Seems a bit much for some cheap plastic. So of course now the computer says "check fuel filler neck" message on dash. Plastic broke shortly after we bought car six months ago.

Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.RockAuto.com or www.autopartswarehouse.com for the replacement parts. There is also an on-line source; www.fillernecksupply.com for the fuel filler necks - different vehicles and applications. Most of these list for around $100.00 to $225.00.
